The Interventional Radiology (IR) Lab at The Johns Hopkins Hospital comprises 8 procedural rooms, handling approximately 40 cases daily. Radiology Nurses deliver comprehensive care to both inpatients and outpatients of all ages undergoing a wide range of imaging studies and interventional procedures. Responsibilities include patient preparation, IV and central line access, procedural sedation, intra-procedure monitoring, general anesthesia support, and emergency response. Our state-of-the-art unit features six triage rooms, ten Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms, three operating rooms, three Post-Anesthesia Care Beds (PACU), and over thirty inpatient beds for gynecologic services. You will care for pregnant women with high-risk maternal or fetal needs, as well as low- and high-risk postpartum women (up to six weeks post-partum). Our Fetal Therapy Program specializes in intrauterine interventions for fetal conditions throughout pregnancy, providing expert care for the most complex cases. This RN will be primary assigned to pre-op OR cases complete the recovery for scheduled OR cases on Labor and Delivery, including the care of the newborn baby during the recovery period. In the event there are no scheduled OR cases, this RN may need to act as a baby nurse in vaginal deliveries, help in triage, or help in other emergent situations on the Labor and Delivery floor.
