TRIO/Upward Bound is a federally funded program focused on providing opportunities for first-generation and low-income students, and students with disabilities to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. TRIO/Upward Bound at UNM-Gallup campus is a dynamic and diverse program seeking a motivated and customer focused Education Support Coordinator to join a team of professionals dedicated to creating pathways for college preparation and access for secondary school students.
This position is essential for service delivery, student support, and overall program success. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director in providing administrative and academic support, coordinating and marketing academic programming, and assisting with program events, trips, workshops and other outreach activities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of the Upward Bound academic year and summer program component
* Develop promotional and marketing materials, educational information, newsletters and brochures
* Develops and maintains records and databases on student and program activities, materials, equipment and supplies; maintains documentation of students' progress as well as alumni tracking
* Oversees participant application process; communicates with prospective participants, parents, school counselors and other stakeholders
* Monitors and reconciles program fiscal services, including purchasing activities and student stipends
* Collaborate with Outreach Advisors to identify non-academic needs of program participants
* Connects participants to appropriate resources, tracks use of coordinated services, and provides specific referral services
* Develops and facilitates workshops on a variety of topics

Educators develop, lead, and evaluate high quality and differentiated educational programs in a variety of ways, including: in-person programs on Zoo grounds, in person outreach programs at offsite locations in the St. Louis community, and virtual programs via Zoom.

While having primary responsibilities of on grounds school programs, camps and virtual programs, this person will be joining a team that works together and fills in for all program coverage as needed; as such educators must be comfortable with children as young as two years of age through adults 80+ years (potentially with Alzheimer's/memory challenges). Educators must have comfort with and the ability to differentiate curriculum and teach to a variety of ages, group sizes, and types of audience, backgrounds, and abilities. Classroom/group management, both in person and virtually, is essential. Effective communication and understanding via spoken and written English required. Comfort teaching in a virtual environment is vital. Comfortable driving a Zoo vehicle in and around St Louis is needed. The ability to be flexible in scheduling and to mentally pivot is integral to success in this position. Excellent time management and forward-thinking & planning are essential to success. Educators will model the Conservation Education Department's mission, values, and philosophy, as well as adhere to the Zoo's overall mission and values. Educators will work in partnership with others in the department and/or Zoo community as needed to design, implement, and evaluate new educational programs that convey developmentally appropriate Zoo and conservation messages, and train other staff on any new programs created. Successful candidates will thrive in fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented atmosphere with an open-cubicle environment, when working at the Zoo. However, the candidate must have the willingness and capabilities to also work from home during scheduled work hours, if needed. This position will be based primarily at the Forest Park Zoo campus, but will also be expected to lead programs and/or work at/near the new WildCare Park campus occasionally throughout the year. Pay rate based upon experience. May be required to have an annual TB test. Under the supervision of the home-based services supervisor, the family development educator shall be responsible to:
1. Conduct weekly home visits with families lasting a minimum of one and a half (1.5) hours to a maximum of two (2) hours per session.

Provide case management and general counseling to assigned families to ensure provision of quality mental health, health, and social services, including services to high-risk pregnant women, expectant fathers, and their families. Maintain accurate documentation.
Assess, document and maintain strength-based Family Partnership Plan while supporting parents in achieving their family goals.
Participate in regular case conferencing sessions to discuss strengths, needs, and concerns of children and their families.
Refer families to available community services and follow up referral to ensure needed services were obtained. Develop relationships with the community and community resources and monitor to ensure families receive necessary services in a timely manner.
Participate in and attend all required meetings, training, workshops, conferences, and continuing education as required.
Develop and implement activities for workshops and monthly family nights as described in parent involvement procedures. Distribute monthly parent meeting agendas and minutes.
Jointly plan and implement a variety of activities for parent workshops and family nights, including planning and distributing agendas, preparing and translating minutes in English and Spanish.
Monitor and track attendance of children in caseload and follow up on absences, providing support and guidance to families as necessary to ensure successful program enrollment.

Fort Valley State University's Cooperative Extension Program is seeking a Vaccination Outreach Educator. The incumbent will be part of the Extension Collaborative on Immunization Teaching and Engagement (EXCITE), focusing on adult immunization education. This position will be based in Fort Valley, Georgia with a multi-state region responsibility serving Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Position objectives:
At the community level the incumbent will increase the public confidence in vaccination for adults.
Will increase their knowledge of and ability to educate communities using a model for making sustainable health decisions.
Expand and strengthen community partnership with health departments, healthcare providers, and community-based organizations depending on the needs of the communities.
Integrate vaccine education across program areas with their Extension colleagues, community health workers and volunteers as a core part of Cooperative Extension ongoing outreach.
Primary audiences include rural individuals, including but not limited to farmers and migrant labor, pregnant people, adolescents and young adults, rural and local healthcare and community service providers, volunteers and other trained community messengers, and seniors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
50% - Provide immunization education in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina. This will include incorporating at least one curriculum identified from the EXCITE Adult Immunization Awareness and Education Integration Projects under development.
25% - Provide leadership and professional development to Extension professionals in the region. This will include how to integrate immunization education into existing work and into volunteer and/or community health worker training curricula.
15% - Provide personal professional development, scholarships, program evaluation and report.
10% - Develop and maintain immunization community partnerships at community, regional, or state levels.
Collaborate with county staff, program leadership, other health-oriented campus departments, medical, federal, state, and local agencies to address chronic disease, obesity prevention and health equity and its associated health problems for program implementation with Mobile Health Unit.
Deliver training and educational support material for county-based staff and their clientele and vaccination information consistent with individual and community public health through policy, systems, and environmental changes (PSE's).
