The registerednurse apprenticeship program at Tidelands Health is a paid apprenticeship that provides in-depth educational and clinical experiences for student nurses.
Students will engage in hands-on clinical learning, increase confidence by combining education with clinical practice, experience the importance of compassion in health care and become integrated into our Tidelands Health culture.
The registerednurse apprentice will work a maximum of 16 hours per month on a medical/surgical unit, partnering with an experienced RN preceptor.
The program is open to nurses who are in their senior year of a bachelor of science in nursing program or who have completed the first three semesters in an associate of science in nursing program.

A Brief Overview
The Oncology Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice in an oncology setting; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care deliveries in the outpatient oncology and infusion services setting. Provide safe, effective, appropriate and comprehensive infusion services to oncology patients. Monitors drug therapy and identifies drug related problems such as drug-drug interaction, adverse reactions, and inadequate therapy; takes appropriate steps to resolve drug related problems. Coordinates, provides and ensures a continuum of care by collaborating with other healthcare providers both within and outside of the organization. The certified oncology nurse demonstrates, through patient care, both specialized knowledge and experience in cancer care. Maintains evidence of training and continued education in oncology specific opportunities and completing other duties as assigned.

Reminds caregivers of hourly rounding when prompted by technology of time to round
Makes patient rounds, ensuring white boards are up-to-date, high risk patients are set up for success (for example, high fall risk patients have all fall prevention tactics in place)
Comfortable with crucial conversations when idle caregivers are not fulfilling expectations of helping colleagues or taking care of their assignment

A Brief Overview
The RegisteredNurse (RN) - Cardiovascular is responsible for the provision of nursing services based on standards of care and professional nursing practice prescribed in nursing education, TH orientation and education as well as TH policy and protocol. The Cardiovascular RN provides direct nursing care to both in and out-patients during cardiac stress testing, transesophageal echocardiograms, tilt table tests, electrical cardioversion, and other procedures performed in the Cardiology Service Line. The Cardiovascular RN utilizes a high level of knowledge of cardiac or chemical stress testing and effectively communicates issues with physicians. The RN will interpret data received before the procedure and use nursing judgment that is in line with safety protocols. The Cardiac Nurse must be self-directed and act independently and intervene as appropriate to resolve issues. The Cardiovascular RN is responsible for implementing the philosophy, objectives, standards of care, policies, and procedures of Cardiac Services under the supervision of the Cardiologist. In addition, the nurse monitors on-going needs of patients to ensure efficient and effective access to services and apprises radiologists and supervisory personnel of patient(s) status; provides viable and innovative solutions to problems; attends meetings/training, adheres to approved policy/procedures, represents the hospital in a professional manner, makes effective presentations. The nurse proactively and assertively addresses issues as they arise. Attends hospital wide meetings to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines as they pertain to Cardiology Service Line, the nurse facilitates the guidance of individuals through the Cardiology Service Line to ensure they understand their procedures, treatment and immediate follow up care after procedure and completes other direct service RN duties as assigned.

Under general supervision, provides high quality support to physicians in meeting the medical needs of the patient. Performs Exercise and/or Pharmacological Nuclear Stress tests and stress studies under the Direct Supervision of the Supervising Cardiologist
Review stress test orders, to assess for appropriate use criteria by non-cardiology providers
Provide proper patient identification prior to procedures, medication or any treatment
Ensures medication reconciliation on admission and discharge
Provide assessment and reassessment of patient prior to and post-procedure according to protocol
Provide assessment of level of consciousness/pain intensity
Perform pre-procedural and post procedural documentation
Make sure discharge education/instructions are completed
Assumes responsibility for ensuring all patients are positioned on procedure table or stretchers in a fashion to minimize potential harm.
Assists with ensuring that all vendors and staff are shielded. Consistently wears a radiation monitoring device, wears a protective lead apron while assisting with a procedure, and recognizes distance as the primary rule for radiation safety

The Breast Surgical Oncology Practice Nurse Specialist is essential for the efficient care delivery in the Breast Surgical Oncology Practice. Responsible and accountable for the coordination and provision of nursing care based upon standards of care and professional nursing practice and is accountable for the outcomes of nursing care deliveries in the ambulatory Breast Health setting. Collaborates with all members of the patients care team and provides necessary reports, documents and care plans.

* Responsible for chart preparation which includes communication with various other providers/services involved in the care of the patient and reviewing all the necessary reports/documentation in preparation for the patient visit
* Responsible for triaging patients during the nursing assessment intake at each office visit. Reviews all medications, allergies, surgeries, family history, new medical comorbidities and completes MIPS according to protocol
* Responsible for ensuring effective communication across the multidisciplinary teams (Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Plastic Surgery, Radiology, Surgical services) to provide coordinated & timely care for patients. Serves as a liaison for patients and providers. Acts as a chaperone for physicians to ensure a safe environment for all patients
* Assist physician during in-office procedures (biopsy, aspirations, incisions and drainage) which includes preparing instruments, operating the breast ultrasound equipment and documenting and label specimens per policy
* Perform lymphedema measurement procedure and document accordingly in EPIC
* Provides and reviews all education material with patients and families regarding procedural instructions, maintaining of good breast health, the understanding of a breast cancer diagnosis or benign breast problem. Communicates with patients and families regarding all necessary surgical information- pre-op instructions, arrival times, follow-up care
* Completes independent nursing assessment patient visits to assess post-op complications, monitoring and removal of surgical drains/staples, incision checks, wound care, dressing changes, blood draw for genetic testing
* Collaborate with the surgical and radiology departments to schedule surgeries and biopsies and ensure all documentation is complete. Obtain and track prior authorizations for biopsies, surgeries and imaging and documents in EPIC accordingly
* Monitors and triages messages/voicemails in the EPIC in-basket
* Maintains an accurate record of AED log
* Prepares and participates in the annual "In the Pink" Breast Cancer fundraising walk
* Completes annual CME as required by the NAPBC to remain an accredited oncology breast program
* Stock exams rooms daily, and is responsible for organizing, monitoring the inventory and ordering all medical supplies for all practice locations

A Brief Overview
The Physician Office Urodynamics Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care as reflected in the SC LPN scope of practice including health data collection, administering medications, implementing patient interventions, assessing patient responses, and basic health teaching.
What you will do
* Performing urodynamics testing procedures
* Prepare and maintain urodynamic equipment and supplies, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to infection control standard
* Perform medication pre-authorizations and refill requests
* Provide follow-up to lab results and medication changes
* Assist physicians with patient set-up and preparations. Room patients and performing data collections, vitals, EMR input
* Perform nurse visits and patient education
* Triaging incoming phone calls
* Sending outgoing referrals and managing fax in-box / distributing faxes to proper staff
* Ordering / managing general inventory and office supplies
* Assist with staff training
* Check-in and check-out when needed
Education Qualifications
* High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Experience Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years previous experience as an LPN Preferred
* Phlebotomy experience Preferred
Skills and Abilities
* Possesses skills and abilities required in a multifaceted environment in addition to those related to nursing
* Computer knowledge
Licenses and Certifications

The Outpatient Nurse (RN) is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice. The Outpatient Nurse is accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered in an outpatient setting that performs specialized procedures.
What you will do
Accompany patients to exam rooms, preparing patients for exams, performing and documenting vital signs, assisting with office procedures, preparing and administering medications with physician's authorization, and drawing blood.
Provide patient education with regards to office policies, medications, and management of disease, home treatments, and special diets.
Retrieval of lab and x-ray reports, calling in prescriptions, telephone triage, obtaining referrals and authorizations, completing medical forms.
Order medical and office supplies, stocking exam rooms, cleaning rooms, cleaning instruments, disposing of biohazard waste according to OSHA standards.
Perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation and other front office duties as assigned.
Coordination of pre-op workup including patient education.
Contact patients prior to procedure to review pre-op checklist and documenting communications.
Draw up medications.
Assist with patient preparation including patient assessment / monitoring before, during, and after an outpatient procedure.
Assist patient / family with post-procedure instructions.

General experience in a physician office setting Preferred

General proficient PC skills and computer knowledge
