    Elementary Teacher/Bilingual Elementary Teacher TRENTON BOARD OF EDUCATION ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER Position Type: Full-Time (10-Month Employee) Salary Range: $70,075 ï ½ $114,875 annually Benefits: Eligible for Medical, Prescription, Dental, and enrollment in the applicable NJ State Pension Program Union Affiliation: Trenton Education Association (TEA) QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Valid New Jersey Teacher Certification or eligibility for appropriate certification. All Applicants must upload proof of the certification for the position they are applying for at the time of application. REPORTS TO: Building Principal PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and implements written instructional plans that meet the diverse needs, abilities, and interests of all students. Creates and maintains a classroom environment that supports learning and is developmentally appropriate. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives aligned with those goals. Demonstrates a commitment to the district's philosophy of education and its instructional goals and objectives through instructional practices and professional conduct. Establishes and maintains positive, cooperative relationships with colleagues, students, and families. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Demonstrates competence in subject field(s) assigned and deemed highly qualified per standards established by NJDOE. * Provides activities and experiences to meet the needs, interests and abilities of students. * Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. * Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives. * Assesses the academic and behavioral status of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. * Participates in identifying and meeting pupil needs in cooperation with other professional staff members. * Establishes and maintains, with the support of administrators, standards of pupil behavior appropriate to the activity. * Maintains professional competence through participation in inservice education activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities. * Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required. * Prepares for classes assigned and develops general lesson plans related to established curriculum goals. * Takes reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. * Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations. * Makes a reasonable effort to cooperate professionally with other members of the staff. * Assists in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials. * Satisfactorily fulfills duty assignments during the course of the school day as assigned. * Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students. * Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others. * Participates in professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning. * Performs such other tasks as may be from time to time assigned by the Principal or his/her Assistants within the scope of his/her employment and/or certification areas. COMPENSATION: The per diem rate established as budgeted and approved by the Board of Education for Substitute Teachers. $126.50 - Days 1- 30 $165.00 - Days 31-90 $220.00 - Days 91 + Additional compensation of $25 per day after Day 20 of a Long Term Assignment. BENEFITS: Full Time Staff are eligible for Medical, Prescription, Dental and Vision Benefits. PTO Days are included. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 month year VACATION: There is no vacation time allotted to this position. EVALUATION: Performance of job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

COMPENSATION: In accordance with GTSPA contract. ($19,168 - $27,008 per year. Final compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.) BENEFITS: Full Time Staff are eligible for Medical, Prescription, Dental and Vision Benefits. Sick, Personal and Bereavement Days are included. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Months VACATION: There is no vacation time allotted to this position.
