Scott Spence is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Duck River Electric Membership Corporation, one of the 22 electric cooperatives in the state of Tennessee. Tennessee electric cooperatives serve 84 of the 95 counties in Tennessee. At Duck River Electric, he partners with 180 employees and approximately 50 contractors who all play an essential role to supply the electric needs of over 77,000 homes and businesses in all or parts of 16 central Tennessee counties. Their mission is focused on and guided by the safest, most reliable power supply possible at the lowest possible cost. Spence supports public power by serving on the board of organizations like the Tennessee Electric Cooperative and the Middle Tennessee Industrial Development Associations. Additionally, he serves in local county and city efforts as requested in an effort to support the people served by the Duck River Electric Membership Corporation. He is a member of the Shelbyville Rotary Club, and speaks at other Rotary Clubs and civic organizations as requested. The Spence family considers it a privilege to partner with others who also regularly support several local and regional charities with gifts of time, service, and other support.
