Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual for the Foreman position at our Oldham County Stone in Crestwood, KY. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
Responsibilities:
Manage an operation with approximately 12-18 employees.
Efficiently supervise production and sales of a 1.2 TPY operation.
Ensure the pit and mine activities are achieved to plan specifications.
Control costs to meet budgets and reduce costs to achieve savings.
Identify deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement.
Effectively manage staff by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback, and providing development through training.
Ensure compliance with all Company and Government policies and regulations.
Direct mine and pit planning.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
Actively reaching out and being involved in the local community.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, or similar is preferred.
A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in operations and engineering as well as significant experience in aggregate processing procedures and surface quarrying.
Working knowledge of AggQC and AggFlow is a plus.
Knowledge of profit and loss statements and an understanding of basic accounting principles.
Excellent skills with Microsoft Office and the ability to rapidly learn different software applications.
Possess strong basic math knowledge.
Basic surveying and mapping skills are required.
Strong communication and leadership skills are necessary.
Proven safety record and excellent compliance in MSHA safety standards.
Ability to develop strong leadership at the lead person and foreman levels.
Working knowledge of environmental policies, standards, and best practices.

Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual for the ASPHALT PAVING FOREMAN position for our South Carolina operations to oversee and supervise our asphalt paving crews on various projects such as commercial parking lots, city streets, county, and state roadways, as well as interstate highways. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. The ideal candidate for this role will have a demonstrated ability to recruit, train and retain crew members focused on safety, quality, and productivity. Other duties include, but are not limited to:
Ability to enforce and abide by the safety policies while completing satisfactory and quality work daily.
Ability to perform asphalt paving, stone set-up, and milling operations in accordance with NCDOT, SCDOT, County, City and Commercial Specifications.
Ability to read plans and specifications (application rates, grades, slope, drainage, etc.).
Proven track record of completing jobs under budget and on time by setting clear expectations and feedback to crew members.
Ability to manage all aspects of the operation including ordering of materials, logistics, maintenance, and outside services.
Coordination between other foreman, plants, crews, subs, and vendors in advance of starting the shift or project.
Ensure daily maintenance and housekeeping is occurring and pre-trip inspections are written up and submitted daily.
Nights and weekends are required based on customer demands.
Daily submission of electronic timecards and shift production reports as required by management with accurate quantities and cost coding.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a paving foreman, with references.
Knowledge of the local customers, materials, and specifications is strongly preferred.
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven record of being a self-starter and able to work under limited supervision.
Ability to work well with team members or inspectors while managing stressful situations in changing environments.
Proficient with GPS grade and slope control.
Asphalt paving experience required.
Computer skills are required.
Driver's license and safe driving record.

Key Responsibilities
Employs creative, practical, and cost-effective assembly methods through knowledge of electrical construction environment with a think-outside-the-box planning perspective.

Responsibilities:
Lead and work alongside crews on excavation, utility installation, and grading jobs.
Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, and rollers.
Interpret construction plans and specifications to ensure proper execution of project scopes.
Shoot grade using lasers and grade rods; experience with Topcon GPS a plus.
Maintain a safe and productive job site; enforce company and OSHA safety standards.
Train and mentor team members on equipment, safety procedures, and job standards.
Communicate effectively with project managers and team members to keep projects on track.
Monitor materials, schedules, and job progress; report issues or needs proactively.
Travel to out-of-town job sites and work Saturdays as needed.
Assist in maintaining equipment and worksite cleanliness.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, including utilities and site work.
At least 3 years in a leadership or foreman role.
Skilled in operating a wide range of heavy construction equipment.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and shoot grade independently.
Familiarity with Topcon GPS equipment preferred.
Strong understanding of job site safety practices and regulatory compliance.
Willingness to travel for certain projects and work extended hours, including Saturdays.
Able to work through most winter months, with some seasonal slow periods.
Valid driver's license required.
