Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking a seasoned Business Intel Architect with business intelligence applications experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives.
Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

Experience Should Include
* Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions, including data ingestion, processing, and visualization, leveraging Azure SQL Managed Instance, SSIS, ADF, Azure Storage, and Azure VM for scalable and efficient ETL workflows.
* BI experience in Treasury Management
* Create interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI, perform advanced data analysis, and write complex SQL queries to transform raw data into actionable insights for business decision-making.
* Advanced SQL Server knowledge (T-SQL, DAX, performance tuning, security, SSIS/SSRS). Postgres is a plus.
* Data modeling (relational, dimensional, multi-dimensional, semantic layers)
* Experience developing and implementing models for clustering, recommendations, and forecasting
* Experience with Azure Data Services (Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake, Power BI)
* ETL design and implementation experience (data pipelines, load processes, error handling)
* Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, SSAS, semantic modeling)
* Experience with Metadata management and governance

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. Pay Range: $126,820.00 - $149,200.00

GENERAL FUNCTION:
As a Consulting Enterprise Database/Data Architect at Fifth Third Bank, you will serve as a strategic technical leader responsible for designing, optimizing, and governing enterprise-scale data/database architectures. You will partner with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure data/database solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise goals. This role requires deep expertise in database technologies, data modeling, and architecture patterns, with a strong consulting mindset to influence and guide cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Data Architecture Leadership
Lead the design and evolution of enterprise data/database architecture across cloud and on-prem platforms, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
Consulting and Technical Expertise
Act as a trusted advisor to engineering and business stakeholders, providing guidance on data strategy, architecture patterns, and platform capabilities.
Platform Engineering Collaboration
Collaborate with platform engineering teams to support initiatives such as CA$H Platform, AWS migration, and secure cloud framework development
Database Optimization and Governance
Define and enforce standards for data modeling, performance tuning, and database lifecycle management across on-prem, and cloud-native databases
Innovation and Modernization
Drive modernization efforts including automation, observability, and integration of AI/ML capabilities into data platforms.
Mentorship and Thought Leadership
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the Consulting Engineer community by sharing best practices and participating in calibration discussions

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technology field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Two+ years in different technology areas including, but not limited to IaaS PaaS, ERPs, hosting, Data Centers, etc.
Ten+ years of IT work experience relevant to the position.
Proven expertise in implementing hybrid cloud data strategies.
Experience leading modernization efforts, including automation and integration of AI/ML into database platforms.
Position requires the ability to establish self as a leader, to not only perform in a leadership role, but to also be recognized by other divisions and business partners as a leader.
Familiarity with Fifth Third's platform engineering ecosystem and regulatory landscape.
Prior involvement in large scale modernization initiatives or enterprise architecture communities
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred), data security, and compliance frameworks.
Experience with consulting or advisory roles in large-scale enterprise environments.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

**Job Description**
This Principal Solutions Architect (PSA) position will focus on application and product architecture. As a PSA, you will work as a trusted consultant and advisor to an aligned domain assisting in the development of innovative solutions and technology strategies aligning to business strategy, architecture principles, and technology standards. The PSA role does not have direct reports, however leadership skills are essential to the position as providing direction, influencing, and indirectly leading others are important for the success of a PSA.
