Responsible for ensuring that quality, patient centered Social Work services are being provided to patients on a daily basis. Ensure adequate staff coverage is available to provide comprehensive services to patients and their families; support to the multidisciplinary health care team; and intervene with problem resolution on complex cases. Minimum Required: Master of Social Work degree from an accredited School of Social Work. | Licensed by the State of Ohio Social Work Board (LSW, LISW, or LISW-S). For employees working in UCMC Psychiatric Services, NCI-APS (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills) Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire. | 5 years clinical experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
SUPERVISORY LEADERSHIP:
The supervisor provides direct supervision for MSW social workers. The supervisor will work under the guidance and supervision of the Manager.
Direct all patient care services including psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, referrals, and disposition when needed.
Assist staff in prioritizing activities, locating resources, and scheduling educational engagements.
Recommend strategies to enhance productivity and quality of work and ensure consistent documentation to meet regulatory requirements
Maintain statistical information as required for productivity reports
Assist with scheduling, shift assignment, and reallocation of staff as needed to ensure coverage.
Provide staff coverage in the absence of essential staff.
Ensure staff know performance expectations and hold them accountable for professional practice.
Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Establish and maintain a working environment that supports the RITE Values and assist in Service Recovery
Develop and maintain liaison relationships within the department, other health care professionals and community agencies.

Assist in the development of the department's budgets and monitor expenditure.
Monitor work hours for payroll; PTO usage and payroll distribution reports.

Promote behavioral standards that support the values and ethics of the social work profession.
Troubleshoot and mediate patient/family, departmental, community, and staff issues.

COMPETENCY:

* Advocate, mediate and negotiate to formulate a cohesive plan for maintaining or enhancing patient's health status, improving social supports, and moving patients safely across the continuum of care.
* Provide family education.
* Provide education about Advance Care Planning and assist with completing Advance Directives paperwork.
* Initiate referrals to community resources as indicated.
* Facilitate discharge process to home, nursing facility, rehabilitation facility, LTAC, group home, treatment or other facility.
Evaluation and Termination:
* Briefly summarize care plan with patient/family and respond to questions and concerns.

Competency:

* Maintain timely, clear and concise documentation; and write reports as needed.

In total, our hospital has 92 inpatient beds available to serve children and adolescents who are 17 years old and younger, who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The units are explained below:
* Adolescent Unit 4.200 (ages 12-17): Patients with a mental/behavioral disorder
* Youth Unit 5.400 (ages 8-17) Patients with both a mental/behavioral diagnosis and developmental disability
* Young Child Unit 5.200 (ages 2-8) Patients who have a mental/behavioral health diagnosis
* Youth with chronic medical conditions in addition to mental health diagnosis
Youth admitted for inpatient treatment can participate in various therapeutic and medical treatment programs depending on their personal needs. Their stay can include group therapy, music therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and chemical dependency education.

Qualifications
Minimum Required: Master's Degree - Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field. | Required: Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Complete required training and health officer certification per state of Ohio Revised Code per Mental Health, Addiction and Recovery Services Board of Hamilton County within one year. Preferred: Licensed Independent Social Work, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). | Minimum Required: 1 - 2 Years equivalent experience. Preferred: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience.
