**Responsibilities:**
- Maintains a neat and clean work environment. Prepares the clinic for opening; turning off and/or setting alarm system.
Prepares working area for shift, including maintaining supplies such as intake forms and office supplies.
- Greets and provides assistance to all visitors and patients, promoting a
positive and calm atmosphere throughout the clinic. Answers phone using defined scripts, referring or redirecting calls as appropriate.
- Patiently and clearly guides patient through registration process, explaining policies and processes as needed.
- Obtains necessary demographic and insurance information in accordance to clinic policy and accurately enters
information in the practice management system. Updates patient forms and records as needed.
- Notifies patient of payment amounts due at time of patient encounter, such as co-pays, deductibles, and bad debt
amounts.
- Collects due amounts. Counts and balances patient case drawer at the beginning and end of each shift. Refers patient to billing office as needed.

Performs tasks of moderate to difficult complexity relating to both hospital and physician accounts. Handles a large volume of inbound calls assisting patients with requests for information, complaints, and resolving issues. Greets patients in a professional and courteous manner. Communicates clearly and professionally in both oral and written communication. Education Requirements:
● Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
Prefer MSN in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing and NCC board certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. Successful completion of a Master's and/or Doctorate degree Neonatal Nurse Practitioner university-based program whose curriculum has been approved by the North Carolina Medical Board.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) in the state of North Carolina.
● Board certification if required by the Department. DEA.
The incumbent must maintain a current North Carolina licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). The incumbent must also obtain certification from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) and must continuously maintain licensure by the NC Boards of Nursing and Medicine as a NNP. Exceptions may be allowed for nurse practitioners approved prior to January 8, 1981 (see Subchapter 32E.003 of Regulations regarding Approval of Registered Nurse Performing Medical Acts).
