Employs radiologic sciences technology to perform a variety of patient care, technical, and diagnostic tasks targeted to the care of patients with cardiovascular disease. Major tasks include ultrasound imaging, patient preparation and post procedure care, procedure room set-up and cleaning, technical reporting, and quality monitoring. **Responsibilities:** + Demonstrates competence in delivering pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care including, but not limited to patient assessment pre- and post-procedure care and, emergency cardiac care (CPR is required). Additionally, assistance with post-procedure transport may be required. + Ensures equipment is calibrated and properly maintained on a daily basis. Performs and records all equipment maintenance and quality assurance monitoring. Troubleshoots and identifies any equipment problems and reports to appropriate supervisor or biomedical engineering. + Generates ultrasound images of the heart and/or vascular related structures. Performs advanced cardiac ultrasound studies in care of patients with complex conditions and regularly performs multiple study types with varied anatomical areas. + May perform staff training and education. Serves as a subject matter expert and resource to Cardiovascular Sonographers. + Monitors and records patient information and maintains report storage and data systems. Compiles and enters data necessary for charge entry and prepares reports. Also responsible for retrieval of stored information and reports from the automated storage system. + Prepares procedure room and equipment for daily use and is responsible for timely and efficient room preparation between procedures. **Qualifications** **Education Requirements:** ● Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology or a related field within 3 months of hire, OR Completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire. **Licensure/Certification Requirements:** ● Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire. Summary: Responsible for the independent operation of diagnostic medical equipment to expose complex diagnostic conditions, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations for a variety of ob/gyn scanning procedures (fetal echo, fetal anomalies, high risk obsetrics). Responsibilities: 1. Assists the Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician in performing invasive diagnostic procedures. Provides support in the standardization and training of physician learners during invasive procedures and other diagnostic imaging examinations. 2. Consults with the patient and assesses for potential contraindications-such as medication use, insufficient preparation, or the patient's inability or unwillingness to tolerate the procedure. 3. Performs the ultrasound procedure under general or direct supervision, as defined by the procedure and/or physician. Performs essential maternal-fetal ultrasound examinations, such as; detailed anatomical evaluation, complete fetal echocardiogram, growth assessment, fetal wellbeing (to include biophysical profiles, maternal/fetal Doppler, amniotic fluid assessments), needle procedure guidance, examinations of maternal pelvic anatomy (including transvaginal cervical assessment) and advanced diagnostic 3D/4D techniques. 4. Conducts comprehensive diagnostic sonograms and records anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist. 5. Assists the supervising physician with invasive procedures as needed. Continuously evaluates sonographic findings throughout the examination to ensure a thorough and comprehensive study, providing the physician with complete and clinically relevant diagnostic information. 6. Recognizes situations or abnormalities that require the direct observation of the real-time imaging by a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist. 7. Utilizes pulse-wave and color/power Doppler to obtain vascular and spectral Doppler waveforms for interpretation by a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist 8. Our sonographers perform a variety of women's health centered ultrasounds including anatomy scans, growth scans, BPPs, AFIs, pelvic scans, ultrasound guided IUD insertions and removals, as well as other diagnostic gynecological scans. Summary: Provides a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures (invasive and non-invasive) interprets a variety of ultrasound examinations ranging from routine OB/GYN, vascular, abdomen and small body parts to intra-cavity and color Doppler and a variety of biopsies. Responsibilities: 1. Completes all relevant worksheets. Gives accurate impressions of exams performed. Deletes all unnecessary image data. Maintains image management equipment.
