Job Description
The Teller serves as the primary point of contact for customers and non-customers and provides outstanding customer service throughout the interaction. They perform a variety of customer transactions on a daily basis, provide information, resolve issues and look for opportunities to strengthen the customer relationship through suggestion of other bank products and services.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:15 AM - 5:15 PM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Accept and accurately process all financial transactions.
Maintain responsibility for cash drawer and follow proper balancing procedures.
Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
Provide excellent customer service by providing answers and assistance for customer questions, and concerns.
Cross sell other bank services and refer customers to other departments to help achieve goals set by management.
Learn and maintain knowledge of products, fees and policies, and stay current on offerings to make product suggestions.
Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job functions that apply to designated job responsibilities.
Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Perform other job related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma
Cash handling experience preferred
Accuracy and attention to detail
Previous sales and customer service experience preferred
Effective communicator - promotes Union Bank's customer service philosophy
Basic math skills and proficient computer skills
Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor work - not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards
Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time

As a Video Teller, you will create a positive, interactive experience for members while assisting with their financial transactions such as processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and more through an interactive teller machine. These machines are similar to an ATM but more technologically advanced because they have video capabilities built in!

Main Responsibilities:
Deliver excellent service to members by accurately processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other transactions through Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs)
Guide and educate members on using ITM technology, helping them feel confident while identifying opportunities to recommend relevant credit union products and services.
Perform account maintenance including loan corrections, loan/account fee reversals, and transactional disputes related to the ITM channel.
Assist with decreasing risk and losses to the credit union by reviewing account activity and by gathering information required for compliance requirements.
Ensure policies, procedures, compliance, audits, quality control and balancing standards are adhered to.
Collaborate with branch employees to create a partnership between the branch and video teller team when assisting members.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED - Minimum
Bi-lingual Spanish preferred
At least 1 year of customer service experience required, financial institution experience preferred
Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate clearly
Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment
High proficiency with computer systems and software applications
Confident and professional appearing on camera while interacting with members
Flexibility to work 40 hours/week between the following hours:
Monday - Friday: 8AM - 6:15PM, rotating Saturdays: 8AM-2PM
When scheduled on Saturday you will get a day off during the week!
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $15.80 to $22.13 per hour. This role is eligible for an annual bonus opportunity. A specific salary offer considers factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

Position Overview:

Analyze member's financial situation and credit report to determine if it is in the member's best interest to approve the loan
Review loan agreements and gather required documentation and ensure completeness and accuracy in accordance to policy
Approve loans within specified limits, and refer loan applications outside those limits to management for approval
Partner with members to understand their financial goals and assist in creating a personal budget to help them achieve those goals
Proactively reach out to members on products or services that would be a beneficial to help achieve their financial goals
Assist members with accurately and efficiently processing transactions
Provide education to members on our self-serve options
Execute wire or ACH transferring of funds
Instant issue debit, credit, and gift cards
Troubleshoot credit or debit card issues, online banking questions, or other general account related questions and issues

Qualifications and Skills:

Physical Requirements
Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and making fine discriminations in sound.
Finger, handle, touch: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Lifting Demands: Up to 50 lbs.
Visual Demands: Visual acuity to do things such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
