Individual responsible for the accurate administration of UnitedHealth Group's stock plan award and employee stock purchase plans; ensures administrative processes, procedures and controls facilitate effective administration and service delivery. Responsible for program compliance with company policies and controls, and with the laws, regulations and rules issued or enforced by state, federal and foreign regulatory authorities on the subject of program administration, reporting, disclosures and filing requirements.
Develops, executes, and supervises projects in partnership with human capital, legal, finance, accounting, payroll, communications, information technology, and other company professionals.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires within 30 minutes of an office in Minnesota or Washington, D.C., you'll be required to work a minimum of four days per week in-office.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the accurate administration of domestic and international stock plan award and employee stock purchase plans through third-party record keepers, trustees, actuaries and consultants
* Oversees daily administrative activities; provides guidance and work direction to analyst-level team members
* Establishes, maintains and fosters relationships with third-party record keepers, trustees, actuaries and consultants
* Ensures compliance with company policies and controls, and with the laws, regulations and rules issued or enforced by state, Federal and foreign regulatory authorities on the subject of program administration, reporting, disclosure and filing requirements
* Ensures program policies, procedures, and provisions are documented, effective and followed. Recommend changes to reduce incidence of error
* Resolves issues. Ensures consistent application of provisions and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Escalates issues to management team as needed to assure prompt and accurate resolution. Identifies root cause of issues and leads issue resolution efforts
* Main point of contact for internal and external audits
* Ensures plan documents and materials are timely and accurately amended
* Collaborates on the implementation of new plans, program features and changes to plans and/or administrative procedures
* Oversees the merger of acquired plans into UnitedHealth Group's stock plans
* Interacts with third-party vendors and internal team to ensure appropriate levels of performance. Periodically reviews internal and third party activities for quality
* Reviews communication drafts for accuracy, detail and completeness. Works with business partners and human capital team members as needed to identify education and training needs. Coordinates benefit education and training initiatives
* Measures program effectiveness based on established criteria to determine whether programs are 1) meeting their objectives, 2) furthering specific business outcomes and 3) complimenting the total rewards strategy. Responsible for plan reporting and analysis
* Prepares documentation of change needs and assists with the review and testing of related materials and systems
* Participates in team special projects
* Stays up-to-date on trends and developments related to stock plan award and employee stock purchase plans
* Oversees stock plan award grant load and transaction reporting, and employee stock purchase plan enrollment and purchase activities
* Prepares month-end reports in support of the GL close process
* Prepares quarter-end reports in support of SEC filings
* Prepares reports and stock plan award tables in support of annual Proxy Report
* Provides reporting support for Executive Compensation, including material prepared for Board of Director/Compensation Committee meetings

Required Qualifications:
* 5+ years stock plan experience including: plan sponsor, consulting, or administration experience with stock plans
* Experience collaborating with outsourced stock plan service providers
* Technical knowledge of administrative practices and all pertinent federal and state regulations affecting stock plan programs
* Solid interpersonal, communication and collaborative team skills. Ability to effectively interact with and influence all levels of internal and external business partners
* Solid consultative, facilitation, and project management skills
* Ability to exercise independent judgment
* Solid knowledge of MS-Office tools - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Ability to work in a team environment with a client service focus
* Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion
* Ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively and handle multiple deadlines

* Experience in a complex matrixed Fortune 100 organization
* Professional designation (CEP)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Coordinate and facilitate the entire enrollment process for new and existing Group Insurance customers, ensuring efficient and smooth operations.

Licensed agent in residence state, able to obtain non-residence license or actively pursuing appropriate licenses
Ability to travel 75% during peak season and may travel 50% of the work period and a have a valid driver's license
Working knowledge of competitor products and services

What You Do
Benefits Consultant
Establish relationships with assigned clients and assume the joint responsibility for client service and retention with the Vice President, Benefit Analyst and other members of the consulting team.
Create the service plan, where applicable. Manage and complete assigned service plan activities and tasks, update service plan with completion dates.
Develop and manage agency relationships with carriers, vendors, underwriters, and other service providers.
Handle advanced client and insurer service (such as billing and claims resolution) requests while maintaining a concern for timeliness and completeness when interacting with customers, agency, and carrier personnel.
Schedule/facilitate open enrolment meetings, client meetings and training sessions with client's employees; group and/or individual basis to include online site training. Meetings to include with client, client employees via live, conference call or webinar.
Review/quality check presentation materials, present open enrolment materials to clients and client's employees live or via webinar. When necessary, aid in requesting/creating open enrolment materials, submission requests to marketing communication team for the benefit guide, etc.
Coordinate the training of Human Resources/Benefit Administrators as necessary, which includes using carrier websites and train their staff and employees. Assist clients with on-going training.
Conduct periodic coverage and service reviews with clients.
Follow procedures within Applied EPIC.
Provide client renewal details to entire team to ensure smooth transition on requesting and processing carrier paperwork. When necessary, aid in completing necessary paperwork.
Inform, educate and make recommendations to clients about benefit administration systems as well as various other technology platforms and systems.
Maintain ongoing training in the areas of healthcare reform and compliance (i.e. ACA Reporting, COBRA, DOL Audits, ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA, etc.).
Assist consulting team as necessary with wellness, compliance and other services to clients
Responsible for understanding new and existing carrier products/services and underwriting requirements.
Perform other duties as requested including exercising discretion and judgment prioritizing workload.
Your Education and Experience
Required
Life and Health License must be obtained within 75 days of the first day of New Hire Onboarding
Understanding and skilled at all basic computer and technology tools
Demonstrated presentation skills for effective communication both verbal and written with the ability to influence external and internal clients.

As a Health & Benefits (H&B) Consultant, you will assist with managing consulting engagements with 2,000+ life employers regarding their medical, dental, life, and disability benefit plans and programs. You will negotiate with benefits carriers and vendors to secure health and welfare plan coverage for these employers, acting as the client manager and often the Mercer relationship manager.
We will count on you to:
Manage complex client engagements, including overall service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewal, business placement, benchmarking, and other studies.
Develop sophisticated benefits design and renewal strategies and drive the development of tools and solutions to address complex client issues.
Develop the full scope of services provided to the client and set roles/responsibilities within the client team.
Effectively communicate Mercer's position on the latest industry trends to clients.
Be accountable for revenue/profitability for client accounts and projects.
Monitor the success of projects in terms of scope, budget, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
Set strategic direction and create demand for new products/services in the marketplace.
Manage and participate in new business opportunities with sales channel partners.
What you need to have:
BA/BS degree.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in identifying, designing, recommending, and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions to clients' complex health care benefit plans.
