Responsibilities
AmeriPath North Texas in Lewisville, TX is seeking a reference laboratory-based cytopathologist to work with a team of 14 pathologists signing out an interesting variety of GYN biopsies, GYN and Non-GYN cytology, breast, genitourinary and general surgical pathology. This person will work closely with the Womens Health Franchise.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree plus accredited pathology residency
Must be board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology
Must be board certified in Cytopathology
2-3 years post residency experience desired
Must hold valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in TX or be eligible to obtain licensure
Must hold active privileges in facility where any inpatient work is interpreted
Strong customer focus and understanding of laboratory operations
Ability to communicate with decision makers in the laboratory and Company

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lab Reporting:
Communicating daily operations priority and setting targets in sample tracking tools. Utilizing and maintaining the various Excel based tools for reporting results to Operations and preparing for incoming samples.
Utilizes SAP and QMS software to verify material certifications based on production requirements and validate them against customer requirements.
Works with lab, engineering and sales staff to determine testing required to support customer specifications.
Provides support for data entry, including automated data input from LIMS and manual data input.
Generates non-conformance reports when required to notify affected parties and disposition material found to be outside of specification due to test results. Coordinates with Operations to complete customer deviations when requested.
Quality Management Systems Support:
Maintains LIMS master data, and shelf-life system, to track the disposition of lab standards
Provides support for incoming raw materials, including sample receipt, record keeping of vendor-supplied certificates, and manual data input.
Maintains training records and associated paperwork
Assists with ISO 17025 maintenance and audit preparation
Other Duties:
Manages ordering for the lab through SAP and Ariba, to maintain established stock levels of inventory to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.
Collaborate with Purchasing to complete ordering for CAPEX projects
Conducts minor lab testing (i.e. SEM, Spatter, Salt Spray, Alpha, etc.)
Assists with quarterly inventory for the lab and provides training for coordinator duties

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school completion required, with preference given to employees that have additional education, experience with analytical chemistry, or experience in laboratory environments. Pay Range:
$17.50 - $24.00
Actual base salary offered varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.

2. May draw blood samples from patients based on physicians order and in accordance with departmental safety and OSHA guidelines (e.g. utilizes protective equipment such as gloves, coats, and shields); verifies patients identification and collects insurance information.
3. Generates and attaches labels to specimen/blood samples; may perform specimen processing and aliquoting according to pre-established test requirements.
