Unitron company history timeline

1964

The company was founded in 1964 by three German immigrants living in Newfoundland - Fred Stork, Rolf Strothmann, and Rolf Dohmer.

1966

Unitron (without Polarex) was also included with SeikoScope in the 1966-67 volume of the Japanese Guide Book of Japanese Optical and Precision Instruments.

1970

1975

Section 1, “The Glory Days”, covers the period beginning with the earliest known information on Nihon Seiko, and continuing until the sale of Unitron USA in 1975.

1980

1990

Even when they were new they could crack and result in damage to your eye!! Secondly, Nihon Seiko, Unitron’s supplier, went out of business in the early 1990’s.
