    The Complex RN will support and assist the Complex Area and school administration to expand the access to care including on site school clinic and telehealth services, establish safety protocols to reduce the spread of infectious disease (such as COVID-19), coordinate with community partners to enhance existing services and connect students to primary care and specialty providers, in addition to providing education to school staff, students and families. School nursing practice requires the combination of professional clinical nursing practice with a specialized component that promotes the health, well-being, academic achievement, and success of the school-age child. The school nurse is called upon to work closely with teachers, classroom assistants, office personnel, school administrators, Hawaii Keiki team members, and support the school health assistant (SHA) to carry out a wide range of school health activities. We aim to provide evidence-based, patient-centered, and non-judgmental care for individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs), meeting them wherever they are in their journey. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) specializing in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) within addiction medicine focuses on providing comprehensive care to individuals struggling with substance use and addiction. The APRN assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients, develops individualized treatment plans, prescribes medications, and offers counseling and therapy. Pay range: $90,000/yr to $110,000/yr. The school APRNs and RNs are called upon to work closely with DOE administrators, teachers, classroom assistants, office personnel, and school health assistant (SHA) to carry out a wide range of school health activities. The Oahu Island Supervisory APRN is responsible for providing oversight of professional nursing practice, school nursing practice, and supervision to the Hawaii Keiki APRNs and RNs on Oahu. This is a leadership position that will train, technically advise, mentor and support Hawaii Keiki Staff. The APRN will also participate in the committees and stakeholder groups supporting nursing practice in the school setting. Provides leadership and supervisory training for RNs and CA leads. Must conduct site visits with each staff member at least twice yearly. Assures that HK services and activities are appropriately documented according to Hawaii Keiki Policies and Procedures, professional school nurse standards, quality assurance, and compliance requirements. Participates in Hawaii Keiki program evaluation. Onboards, orients, and mentors Hawaii Keiki nursing staff on Oahu. Identifies staff education and training needs related to their work in the schools. Collaborates with the Clinical Team Training Specialist during HT orientation and training for HT on Oahu. Maintain visibility and tracking of all grant initiatives on Oahu. Coordinates and participates in the establishment, review, and implementation of school health services, policies and procedures, and manual updates. Provides guidance and direction for pediatric standing orders. Provides guidance and direction to Health Technicians and Nurses navigating clinical issues. Coordinates and leads Oahu meetings, projects, and initiatives. Serves as the primary liaison between HK Director of Clinical Operations, HK Business Operations Manager and the Hawaii Keiki Staff on Oahu. Participates in all Quality Review Programs to assess compliance with clinical standards of practice for Hawaii Island staff. Aggregates Hawaii Keiki Activities on Oahu for reporting and analysis. Provides clinical support while conducting site visits. Interprofessional Collaboration Partners with the Neighbor Island Supervisor to ensure consistency in the implementation of HK clinical and operational policies and processes. Collaborate with Clinical Education Coordinator to ensure clinical staff have the needed training and skills to provide culturally sensitive, evidence-based care. Collaborates with the Hawaii Keiki APRNs and RNs. Works collaboratively in order to promote a physical and psychological environment conducive to the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff. Participates in interprofessional teams and committees, as appropriate. Other Complies with all legal, program, and employer requirements and policies. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintains clinical practice by performing Sports Physicals, providing patient care during clinic site visits, and providing telehealth appointments as needed. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education/Training/Experience: A graduate degree in nursing and eligible for or licensed in Hawaii as an APRN with prescriptive authority. Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP)by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or other nationally recognized certifying agency. BLS/ Healthcare Provider certification. One year of experience in community-based health care settings, school nursing or pediatric nursing. Knowledge of state medical information release procedures and laws. Knowledge of HIPAA rules, regulations, and compliance. Knowledge of OSHA regulations for blood borne pathogens. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with the use of electronic health records. Experience in developing program reports. The Complex Area APRN is based in a school health clinic and serves as a clinical consultant and provides clinical care for students within the complex area. This is a position that will provide in clinic patient care, and serve as a clinical advisor to Hawaii Keiki staff within the same Complex Area, and will provide telehealth services statewide.
