UAS Student Ambassadors play a crucial role in promoting the institution and providing insights into campus life. UAS Student Ambassadors add authenticity to admission efforts, as students often see them as peers and equals. UAS Admissions and Recruitment provides students with leadership opportunities.
This position serves as a front-line support role for the university, combining student services coordination with recruitment assistance. The role involves providing comprehensive customer service to prospective and current students through various channels including in-person assistance, campus tours, phone support, and digital communications. To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, works well in a team setting, is professional, friendly, and takes initiative.
To thrive in this role, you must be comfortable answering phones, engaging with new people (face-to-face and online), and speaking publicly- as the ambassadors will be leading campus tours. One must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google applications. Student ambassadors must also be effective in written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
This position requires to work independently and as part of a team with a commitment to serve as a UAS representative to local community members. UAS relies on this position to be dependable, take initiative, and be available to work occasionally in the evenings and on the weekends as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a UAS student enrolled in at least 6 credits during the academic year. Must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA unless first year student.

This position is located on the Juneau campus at the University of Alaska Southeast. This is a part-time, non-exempt student position, starting at $13.55 per hour during the academic year.

Event Services Assistants assist and support community members and residential students who have a variety of needs, questions, and issues; promote an ethos of belonging and engagement with the community on UAA's residential campus; and support the many aspects of Event Services at UAA. The role of the Event Services Assistant is typically a one-year position.
Event Services is the department that handles the majority of events on campus as well as long-term guest housing for non-students. We have customer service related tasks, cleaning tasks, event tasks, and a variety of special projects that come up. The Event Services student position has 3 main components. The first main component is the office hours where the student sits at the main desk, answers phone calls and emails, and fills in event requests from submitted forms. They will need to be able to assist with walk-in clients as well and keep the office presentable. The second main component are event duties where the student will need to set up events, work events, and break down events. The third main component is centered around our long-term guest housing. We clean and prep rooms and have an on-duty 24/7 phone that is on a weekly rotation with the student staff to assist current guests as needed.
To thrive in this role, a student needs to have a willingness to learn and be part of the team. We have a lot of little steps that go into the big picture and they have to be done well by each member of the team. Attention to detail, quality customer services, and reliability are all attributes that will help a student with the tasks required of them.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must:
A.) Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or
B.) Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and

The School of Health Professions Student Assistants provide support to students from a range of multiple disciplines in the Health Professions field. The Student Assistants bridge the gap between the college and the needs of the student. The Student Assistants also help students make academic progress, while promoting independent learning and self-reliance. Additionally, the Student Assistants keep track of the students they work with, and the nature of the work done with each student.
