Close All The Temporary Lab and Asset Coordinator ensures that the Chemistry space and assets support the educational and research mission of the Department and University. The Temporary Lab and Asset Coordinator will collaborate with the Facilities and Asset Manager and is responsible for ensuring the laboratory and office space and contents are kept in a clean and working condition. Responsibilities include project management (lab cleanouts, lab moves, etc.) and capital asset tracking. The Department of Chemistry includes two buildings, Cristol Chemistry and Ekeley, comprising over 280,000 square feet of research laboratory, instructional, office and support space.
This is a temporary, 50% (20 hours/week) position. The position is expected to begin as soon as possible and will end August 15, 2026.

Who We Are
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Colorado Boulder emphasizes knowledge of the basic principles of chemistry, including atomic and molecular theory, the states of matter and reactivities and properties of chemical substances. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Project Manager
* Oversee and coordinate department projects including interdepartmental moves, lab/equipment clean outs and asset management projects.
* Collaborate with Arts & Sciences, Facilities Management (FM) project managers, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Office of Information Technology (OIT), and departmental end users.
* Coordinate with the campus EH&S department regarding lab clean ups to assure that labs are cleaned and cleared appropriately to eliminate any potential hazards.
* Coordinate furniture and equipment moves, transfers and disposition.
* Follow university procedures on property disposal and transfers.
Additional Oversight Responsibilities
* As needed, may direct staff, student workers, temporary employees on short-term or specialized projects, such as preparing labs for new faculty hires, clearing out old labs, disposition of chemicals, etc.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Intramural Sports Administration
* Develop, plan, and implement sports officials' training for Intramural Sports Staff.
* Assist in planning, organizing, scheduling, administration, and team/participant registration process using provided technology, for producing a comprehensive intramural program including leagues, tournaments, and special events.
* Track and review all received intramural sports event results to ensure accuracy.
* Use university procedural knowledge as well as area expertise to address and resolve pertinent issues primarily independently. Communicate resolutions clearly with appropriate parties.
* Work closely with Recreation events and facilities staff in coordinating all facets of Intramural Sports events.
* Assist in the formation, review, and enforcement of all policies and procedures relating to Intramurals, including annual revisions of all sport rules and regulations as well as the Intramural Sports Participant Handbook.
Staff Leadership, Supervision, Oversight
* Directly supervise 60+ intramural sports officials and 20+ intramural sports supervisors.
* Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and ensuring pay for all student employees in collaboration with Student Life Employee Experience.
* Supervise and evaluate intramural events while in progress and during hours of competition to provide guidance to involved staff.
* Offer continued oversight of employee status and address any issues arising.
* Develop and implement ongoing training and evaluation processes for Intramural staff.
* Provide leadership for student staff by providing continuing education to enhance skills through training and extramural tournaments.
Fiscal Management
* Responsible for supporting the fiscal operations of the Intramural Sports program.
* Supports the Assistant Director of Team Sports with budget planning, justification, and management, including the purchase and inventory of equipment used in intramural programs.
Risk Management/Compliance
* Support the execution of risk management strategies to ensure a safe, rewarding student experience.
* Ensure equipment and facilities are safe and suitable for use.
* Provide on-site event management and logistical assistance for Team Sports' events.
Other
* Work collaboratively with both internal and external program areas and departments to ensure successful programming.
* Work collaboratively with Student Life Marketing & Communications to create, manage, and implement any media and promotional needs.
* Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, in-service education sessions, and other divisional or departmental meetings.
* Participate in other departmental or divisional initiatives, programs, and committees as required.
* Participate in the development of ideas and suggestions for the Recreation Services program and facility improvements.

* Supervise facility operations for assigned events.
* Manage the set-up and tear-down of equipment used for special events.

What You Should Know
* The normal working hours during the academic year will 11 AM - 7 PM, Sunday through Thursday.
* Hours will shift over the summer depending on the activities happening from week to week. Schedule may include weekends and evenings, flexible schedule required. Option to work hybrid schedule with one day per week remote as schedule permits.

Partner with the Director of Medical Students to oversee the administration of 4th-year PM&R electives (PHMD8000, PHMD8600, PHMD8100) across all affiliated sites. _Intramural Sports Administration_
+ Develop, plan, and implement sports officials' training for Intramural Sports Staff.

+ Supervise and evaluate intramural events while in progress and during hours of competition to provide guidance to involved staff.
+ Offer continued oversight of employee status and address any issues arising.
+ Develop and implement ongoing training and evaluation processes for Intramural staff.

_Fiscal Management_
