Responsibilities:
* Coordinates case management activities within an interdisciplinary health care team to ensure appropriate delivery of services to the patient.
* Completes an initial and comprehensive assessment of the patient.
* Initiates, coordinates, and ensures ongoing communication with the physician and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team, including evaluating patients and family-centered health teaching.
* Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and adjusts nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
* Establishes the plan of care in collaboration with the physician, patient, and interdisciplinary team members by the physician's orders and patient needs.
* Assigns other interdisciplinary team members as appropriate to assist in the delivery of services as ordered on the plan of care to the patient.
* Completes all necessary documentation, which may include visit assessment, plan of treatment, and verbal orders, accurately and promptly in the electronic documentation system while in the patient's home and within the agencies and regulatory standards. Data syncs (transmits) information same day.
* Participates in weekend and on-call coverage rotation for the agency as per BU guidelines.
* Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the UPMC standard of care delivery and proficiency in all aspects of patient care, to include complex and/or specialized care.
Qualifications:
* Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience preferred.
* Six (6) months of nursing experience in an Acute Care or Skilled Care Facility or HomeHealth or Hospice Care preferred.
* BSN preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
* Automotive Insurance
* Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
* Driver's License
* Registered Nurse (RN) OR Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
* Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.

The faculty member will work directly with the CRNA Program and Assistant Program Directors, complete some administrative requirements that include (but not limited to) student clinical and DNP project supervision, interacting with clinical partners, evaluation and accreditation activities, and other related duties as assigned. The faculty member will teach key CRNA didactic content along with oversight and participation in CRNA student DNP projects. Required Qualifications:
A terminal degree in Nursing (DNP, DNAP or PhD)
Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Registered Nurse

Clinical expertise in CRNA clinical role

Clinical Research Nurse D(Project Manager)
* Collaborate with Research Team and Principal Investigators to initiate study procedures for new investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and industry-sponsored clinical trials. Serve in a Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) role to coordinate, implement, and manage assigned clinical studies and Phase I-IV clinical trials. Assist with protocol development to ensure logistical feasibility of all study related procedures and study work-flow. Ensure preparation of study related document templates (e.g., visit guides, source document templates), subject study binders, regulatory binders (hard and electronic version), patient list (enrollment log) for study start up. Assist with new study budgeting and manage active study invoicing as appropriate.
* Provide direct supervision & management to Clinical Research Coordinator(CRC)s within the assigned team and any CRNs if applicable. Determine workload and assignments for team staff. Responsible for or participate in the hiring and performance management of staff. Provide training and oversight to network sites on the assigned studies. Orient and mentor new unit staff and function as resource for current staff.
* Manage scheduling and coordination of subject study specified treatment, follow-up visits and procedures. Manage collection of data from source documents pertaining to study visits and transcribe to case report form, including concomitant medications and adverse events. Ensure proper evaluation, documentation, reporting of SAEs and AEs of studies to the Sponsor and all applicable institutional or study related committees and personnel according to applicable regulations and policies. Coordinate activities of the radiation oncology team in caring for participants. Creation of beacon orders and nursing worksheets as needed during study start-up. Provide oversight of administration of medications, chemotherapeutic drugs, cellular immunotherapies, and other treatment agents or study interventions, as appropriate.
* Participate in study team, disease-site group and ongoing protocol training/compliance meetings. If needed, collect, review and report timely, valid, accurate study data within the timelines specified by protocol or Clinical Trials Agreement. Coordination may also include clinical activities such as performing and collecting vital signs, EKG, PK sampling, etc.
* Develop and maintain ongoing communication with the clinical teams including, but not limited to: laboratory, infusion, radiology, MedOnc, surgical departments, advanced practitioners, triage, inpatient and pharmacy. Provide in-service and support to infusion, CHPS or inpatient staff as appropriate. Provide ongoing service education updates to investigators and study teams that have eligible participants for clinical research trials.
* Responsible for functional supervision of non licensed personnel assigned to work with the nurse. * Review all clinical and laboratory data and adverse events, reporting in real-time to the Principal Investigator (PI) for assessment and review, and communicate with medical staff regarding protocol-specific management of toxicities and adverse events.
* Triage any questions subjects may have regarding protocol specifics, investigational products, lab results, effects of therapies, medications, and symptom management within clinical scope and level of expertise and referring other questions to the PI or medical team in order to obtain guidance or assistance.
* If needed, collect, review and report timely, valid, accurate study data within the timelines specified by the Clinical Trials Agreement. Coordination may also include: transporting specimens, submission of study documents to all applicable institutional committees (e.g., IRB, CTSRMC, IBC, CHPS) for initial approval, continuing reviews and for approval of any amendments.
* Provide coverage and support to other research nurses and coordinators to meet departmental/organizational staffing needs.
* This position will require the research nurse to have a variable schedule. Research subjects are seen in the clinical setting during early morning and early evening hours as well as daytime visits. Position involves work-related responsibilities that may occur outside of usual hours and some conference-related travel.

RN applicants who have two years of experience and functioned previously as a Flight/Critical Care Transport Paramedic may be considered based on assessment of his/her role as a paramedic, years in the role and approval of a transition plan by the Medical Director (in accordance to CAMTS requirements).Must be eligible to receive medical command authorization by the Medical Director, have reliable transportation, and be willing to travel to any base site as assigned. Must be able to successfully complete the prescribed orientation program, including classroom, clinical rotations, educational competencies, and on the job training. Must work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Three years clinical experience with a busy advanced life support or critical care ambulance service or critical care experience in a hospital setting. Exemplary clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care. Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in application of the nursing process. Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients.
