Position Summary: As a Pediatric Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA), working under the supervision of attending anesthesiologists, you will play a vital role as a part of the anesthesia care team by administering anesthesia primarily to pediatric surgery patients under the age of 18. Position Key Accountabilities: 1. Under the direction and supervision of an anesthesiologist, the Anesthesia Assistant administers the prescribed anesthetic to patients in order to desensitize them to permit the performance of medical or surgical procedures. 2. Obtains an extensive pre-anesthetic patient health history and performs pre-anesthetic physical examinations. After consultation with the anesthesiologist, the AA may order pre-op evaluations and pre-medications. 3. Establish multi-parameter monitoring prior to anesthesia or in other acute care settings. Modalities include, but are not limited to, ASA Standard Monitors, arterial and venous catheters; may manipulate and interpret data from central venous, pulmonary artery, intracranial catheters and other monitors or devices. 4. Performs initial CPR/ACLS in emergency situations until the supervising anesthesiologist is summoned. 5. Utilizes advanced treatment modalities to effect Section 6, including but not limited to advanced airway interventions and intubation of the trachea; starting and adjusting doses of vasoactive infusions; administering vasoactive and anesthetic drugs; administering blood; and any other treatment modalities prescribed by the supervising anesthesiologist. 6. Assists in the post-operative care of patients by managing post-op ventilator support and acute pain management in conjunction with existing protocols or the supervising anesthesiologist. 7. The Children's Learning Institute (CLI) at UTHealth Houston is seeking a Statistician/Senior Statistician to support our Texas State Initiatives, working at the intersection of advanced analytics, large-scale data systems, and applied education research. In addition to strong quantitative skills, the successful candidate will be comfortable working with very large, frequently updated datasets and navigating a variety of data architectures across multiple projects. Our work centers on state-level educational data and involves close collaboration with State Education Agencies (SEAs), Local Education Agencies (LEAs), and other stakeholders to generate rigorous, policy-relevant insights. The Statistician/Senior Statistician will support both recurring, large-scale reporting (annual, quarterly) and higher-frequency deliverables (e.g., weekly or near-real-time monitoring reports), with the expectation that analytic workflows will be built and maintained to be efficient, reproducible, and responsive to programmatic change. This position will work closely with a faculty manager, who will provide substantive and methodological guidance as needed. We expect the successful candidate to bring robust foundational skills and demonstrated experience applying advanced methods commonly used in large-scale education research (for example, multilevel and growth models, structural equation models, and IRT), and to be comfortable deepening and extending that expertise through self-directed learning and targeted collaboration with faculty. Proficiency in SAS is crucial, as many of our existing data pipelines and analyses are implemented and documented in SAS, and the candidate should be able to understand, maintain, and adapt legacy code.
