**DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION**
Enterprise Records and Health Information (ERHI) is a Shared Service Department that supports all aspects of the patient medical record from governance, integrity, documentation timeliness, completion, clinical coding, billing, release, and tracking to management of access, retention, and destruction
ERHI provides advice and resources related to the lifecycle management of all UW Medicine records
ERHI is an integral part of the Enterprise Revenue Cycle and has a unique role in the organization that supports both clinical and operational activities.
**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Reviews available electronic and other appropriate documentation within Epic and/or Cerner to identify all billable ambulatory surgery procedures and services requiring facility fee coding be captured through Epic Hospital Billing (HB) and 3M computer assisted coding (CAC)
+ Reviews and resolves coding edits related to procedures and services charged during the ambulatory surgery visit in the operating room at the time of completing coding
+ Consults with physicians and/or clinical department representatives, as appropriate, to verify services were rendered, documented and meets the requirements for coding as an outpatient/ambulatory patient type
+ Maintains three day coding turnaround times for ambulatory surgery accounts based on date of service
+ Identifies and escalates to Coding Leadership impacts to timely coding and charge capture, and avoidable delays for billing and reimbursement
**REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
+ High school diploma or equivalent and three years of coding experience or equivalent education/experience.
+ Certified as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC), Radiology Certified Coder (RCC) or Radiation Oncology Certified Coder (ROCC).

**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Performs chart analysis and assigns ICD-CM and ICD-PCS codes using 3M computer assisted coding (CAC) to compute the final DRG assignment to diagnoses and procedures in an integrated system to ensure the appropriate coding for the facility inpatient billing and reimbursement
+ Reviews patient records upon admission and at discharge to the inpatient Rehabilitation Unit; assigns codes to each record to assure proper Case Mix Group (CMG) assignment and appropriate reimbursement to the facility for Medicare Rehab patients
+ Abstracts and/or reviews necessary patient data within 3M CAC and Cerner to ensure data integrity, accurate reimbursement, proper case mix and hospital decision support.
+ Identifies the need for documentation clarity and works with the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) department to review clinical documentation and/or request provider documentation clarification
+ Maintains four day turnaround times for inpatient coding based on the discharge date and understand charge lag impacts, especially for high dollar accounts and long length of stays (LOS).
**REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
+ High school diploma or equivalent and three years of coding experience or equivalent education/experience.

This position provides essential technical and administrative support to the Director of Enrollment Operations by handling data entry, transcript and document processing, CRM record maintenance, and workflow support within Slate, Banner, and related systems.
The specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of student records, supporting daily operational tasks, and delivering excellent service to both internal campus offices and prospective students. - Enter, update, and maintain inquiry, applicant, and student data in Slate, Banner, and other University supported software, following workflows and procedures.
- Create and maintain student records, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems.
- Assist with uploading, scanning, indexing, and verifying all incoming documents, including transcripts, test scores, recommendation letters, financial documents, and identification forms.
- Support the management of digital and physical student files, including file creation, organization, and secure storage.

- Run routine queries and reports to support daily operations, communication flows, and application updates.
- Respond to admissions-related emails and inquiries directed to the operations inbox or assigned to the data team.
- Support the preparation and mailing of acceptance packets and other admissions correspondence.
- Assist with office support duties including document scanning, mail distribution, and filing.
- Work closely with Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions to ensure timely processing of materials.
- Support the Director of Enrollment Operations on special projects related to data integrity, cleanup initiatives, and cycle prep.

Primary duties include providing information technology solutions regarding hardware and software acquisitions and assist in installation, training, and its implementation for all aspects of land grant activities in collaboration with CSU's Information Technology Division. The successful candidate will assist in reviewing emerging computer technologies pertinent to program delivery. Lead the configuration, deployment and support all technology (Laptops, Desktops, iPads, etc) for all 1890 Land-Grant Staff in the State of Ohio Engineer, develop and support software specific for 1890 Land-Grant Programs. Liaison between University IT and 1890 Land-Grant Programs, ensuring all technology needs and requests of 1890 Land-Grant Programs are accommodated and communicated effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Conducts Information Technology (IT) awareness programs in limited-resource communities, implement interactive online desktop video conferencing system, SMART meeting facilities and other web 2.0 technologies for efficient Cooperative Extension Service and Land-Grant Research program operations.
* Manage IT support for Land Grant locations and personnel across Ohio including occasional site visits.
* Manage Information Technology related work conducted for Land Grant programs in collaboration with CSU IT department.
* Reviews emerging computer technologies pertinent to program delivery and recommends technical advances and solutions concerning hardware and software acquisitions, installation, training and its implementation.
* Provides critically needed support in the development and implementation of the Land-Grant Plan-of-Work (POW), and POW accountability and strategies evaluation.
* Assists faculty and staff in the preparation of POW/IP update and annual accomplishment report.
* Provides data analysis support to evaluate program effectiveness and impacts.
* Designs relevant information and communication tools for innovative and efficient program delivery for the limited-resource audience in the state.
* Works with other land-grant extension and research leaders to develop information and communication technology plan, need assessment, program delivery strategies using computer technology.
* Works with the CSU Land-Grant leadership team to monitor current progress and future focus of the organization in the area of computer technology advancement.
* Maintains a work atmosphere conducive to others, including customers, co-workers, and supervisor.
* All other related duties as deemed necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline such as Instructional Design, Web Design with experience in content development and communication.
* Three-year experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in computer and Information Sciences and Business Management.
* Experience at an Institution of Higher Education.
* Advanced computer skills including HTML, WEB 2.0 Technology, multimedia audio/video streaming protocol, video streaming server & encoding, database, MS Project, SPSS, Windows OS and MAC OS.
* The successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work with diverse audiences and must have the capacity to work in a team setting.
* Must be willing and able to work evenings/weekends and travel when necessary.
