This person will be based in Daytona Beach. The Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for medical front desk receptionist duties including greeting patients in a friendly manner, and ensuring patients are accurately checked in and prepared for their appointments in a timely manner. Patient Care Coordinator Responsibilities * Responsible for front desk receptionist duties, including answering phone calls, greeting patients, obtaining required patient information, and ensuring that the entrance area is clean and organized * Assist patients with scheduling appointments * Effectively maintain on-time appointment schedules by notifying physicians when patients have arrived * Retrieve and file patient records as needed * Collect payment from patients * Maintain accurate patient records by updating patient's information and scanning documents into EMR as needed * Responsible for office supply inventory, including checking, ordering and stocking supplies * Protect patient rights by maintaining confidentiality of patient records * Contribute to team effort by assisting with additional duties and when support is requested Patient Care Coordinator Qualifications * Experience as a front-office receptionist or assisting in an office or healthcare clinic or in customer service * Prior experience working in a podiatric or orthopedic practice is preferred * Medical billing and coding experience is highly preferred * Experience working in an EMR, Athenahealth is preferred * Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skills * Exceptional customer service orientation featuring empathetic, compassionate, and professional demeanor with each interaction * Demonstrated experience as a motivated and dedicated team member with a stable work history * Thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment * Reliable transportation and the ability to pass a drug test and a background check is required Compensation Compensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region and based on prior training and experience. Assesses the educational needs and competencies of cardiac sonographer staff and develops, schedules, coordinates, and conducts educational programming for new and existing staff. Oversees the Residency Program. Assists with and provides clinical supervision and evaluation of patient care related to echocardiography. Available to perform inpatient and/or outpatient cardiac ultrasound testing to include 2D echo / Doppler, stress exams, and transesophageal echocardiograms as well as other duties assigned by manager or director. Provides complex technical care with the use of ultrasound technology for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and provides all necessary documentation and preliminary exam findings. Maintain an up to date knowledge of echocardiography trends and best practice and conduct, participate in, facilitate, and utilize research to foster evidence-based practice. c. Provide clinical supervision and evaluation of patient care related to echocardiography. d. Attend and participate in echocardiography leadership activities. e. Quality/Innovation on echo protocols, policies and procedures f. Maintain relationships with technical colleges and oversee student interns. 3. Clinical Support a. Perform patient evaluations including verifying patient identity, reviewing the medical record for orders and prior studies, and addressing patient questions and concerns. b. Perform echocardiograms including 2D / Doppler with and without contrast, dobutamine stress and exercise stress echo exams, and transesophogeal echocardiograms according to protocol. c. Complete appropriate documentation, post processing, and preliminary findings in the medical record and cardiovascular PACS system. d. Acquire and maintain training and competency in electronic health record system as required to perform duties. e. Maintain personal competency file if applicable.
