**BASIC PURPOSE**
The Sr Coordinator, Operations will enable distribution center operations by independently performing a wide range of office activities, responding to various inquiries and providing resolution to problems, and directly supporting warehouse and transportation leadership as necessary.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Ensure optimal warehouse and transportation operations by preparing and processing routine forms, reports, and documents (inbound documents, discrepancy reports, stock and damage claims, time sheets, requisitions, DVIR's, shipping labels, backhaul spreadsheets, delivery window dispatch, driver key log, transportation route update, etc.) following standard procedures. Solve and/or escalate problems as they arise.
+ Communicate with internal and external customers to support staff and customer needs. Respond to general inquiries and telephone calls. Respond to requests by researching information, ensuring a resolution is achieved for all inquiries and requests.
+ Verify information and data to ensure market compliance with regulations and procedures. Escalate and support warehouse and transportation teams as they work through compliance issues.
+ Collect, track, and input data on relevant operations metrics to support tracking warehouse and transportation performance (including shorts, mispicks, dump/damage, service level, associate over-time, trailer temp log, etc.). Support efforts to improve metrics and actively track against them.
+ Create and maintain basic charts, graphs, spreadsheets and databases to prepare for manager's review.
+ Support in training and developing junior clerical teammates.
+ Monitor inventory level of office supplies and initiate purchase orders.
+ Other duties as assigned by manager (including routing duties).

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
+ The work will take place at a desk in an office environment but may occasionally require work in normal warehouse environments including cooler and freezer areas where temperatures may be as low as -5 degrees.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
Related Experience/Requirements:
+ Minimum of three years of clerical experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
+ Excellent communication both verbally and in writing.
+ Excellent telephone and customer service ability.
+ Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
+ Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
+ Problem solving and critical thinking abilities to solve problems of an intermediate scope.
+ Perform cross-functional activities, and work on a varying schedule.
+ Strong teamwork skills with the ability to support others in the department and division.
Education
+ High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.

- Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example. Ensure all drivers and other Transportation department associates are appropriately trained in job duties as well as safety and legal responsibilities.
- Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates by discussing performance with Sr. Transportation Managers and creating plans to address gaps.
- Create an atmosphere in which upward communication is encouraged, and motivate associates to achieve department goals and objectives.
- Direct and supervise the work and productivity of drivers and clerical associates within the Transportation department. Drive associate engagement and retention, and create a culture that embodies US Foods values.
- Build high-performing teams by participating in interviewing and hiring Transportation personnel, in conjunction with Sr. Transportation Managers. Review performance, coach on service and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action.
- Monitor production goals and maintain a zero-error attitude to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction. Anticipate, analyze and troubleshoot problems with deliveries and devise cost-effective and legal solutions; act to implement same. Ensure team understands and adheres to DOT regulations.
- Identify and stop waste, and improve processes to complete work more safely and efficiently.
- Conduct routine Safety and Driver Meetings.
Oversee maintenance of driver qualification files.
- Investigate all accidents, maintain an accident file, track causes and take appropriate preventative action.
- Effectively schedule working shifts by leveraging appropriate planning tools (i.e., Microsoft Excel)
- Other duties assigned by manager.

**RELATIONSHIPS**

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
- May spend significant amount of time on the road. Must spend portion of working time in a truck with drivers, exposed to noise and vibration levels which may be higher than those typically experienced in passenger cars. Will spend time in an office working on a computer.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
Related Experience/Requirements:
- Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution required.
- Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce required.
- Experience as a driver a plus.
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
- Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods and procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
- Strong understanding of DOT requirements. Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Unloads product from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions and places in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards (e.g., handling product according to preferred work methods, scanning product as it is delivered into the store).
Ensures all paperwork is completed according to established company and governmental guidelines (e.g., DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, company vehicle maintenance reports and pre- and post-trip reports are completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis, ensures all invoices are accurate and turned in daily and all damages and shortages are reported promptly).
Ensures all food safety protocols are met according to established guidelines (e.g., proper temperatures are maintained in the delivery vehicle, product is inspected for visible damages prior to delivery, product is delivered and stored to prevent cross contamination) and maintains sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer; assists with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard.
Develops and establishes good relationships with customers by providing excellent and courteous service with clear communication.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree, plus 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor trailer driving school will be accepted instead of, or in addition to a high school diploma.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License. Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continued employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of: DOT regulations; Hazmat guidelines; Safe lifting and delivery practices.
Skill in: driving over long distances, over a variety of terrains and in varying weather conditions, communicating with customers; solving problems; delivering products.

**Main Ingredients of the Job**
+ Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
+ Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
+ Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
+ Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
+ Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
+ Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
**Physical Requirements**
+ Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required
+ Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required
**What You Bring to the Table**
+ **Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse***
+ Must be at least 21 years of age
+ Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
+ Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
+ Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
+ Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.
