What does the Advanced Practice Provider do? (including but not limited to)
Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):
* Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
* Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
* Performs procedures after appropriate training.
* Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
* Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
* Incorporates the developing knowledge of evidence-based research into clinical practice.
* Developing knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
* Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
* May provide case management for patients and their families, given limited knowledge of community resources.
* May promote/provide staff education
* Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after-hour calls.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:
Nurse Practitioner
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
Level I is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of zero (0) to three (3) years of experience.
Level II requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience.
Level Senior requires six (6) years of experience.
RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
Current basic life support BLS certification required.
OR
Physician Assistant
Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.

What does the Medical Physicist do?
The Medical Physicist is responsible for the design optimization, technical evaluation, and precise and accurate delivery of radiation treatment plans. Responsible for the safety of patients and staff. May participate in clinical, research and educational duties. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Facilities and Equipment:
The Texas Oncology - The Gulf Coast has 10 cancer centers that provide a full range of external beam radiation and HDR therapy procedures. We currently have 10 linacs (TrueBeam and C-Series), 4 Elekta HDR's, ARIA ROIS, Eclipse, RadCalc used to treat 250 patients per day. The successful candidate will join our team of 8 board certified physicists, 9 board certified radiation oncologists, 7 board certified dosimetrists and Physics Resident program in the Gulf Coast Region. All sites share a single database for ROIS, treatment planning, 2nd check program, and SNC SunCHECK. QA tools include, but are not limited to IC Profiler, MapCheck2, SNC Routine, and 3D scanning system.

What does the Pharmacy/Admixture Technician do? (including but not limited to)
The Pharmacy Admixture Tech, under the direct supervision of a physician or registered pharmacist working within a clinic admixture room or licensed pharmacy, the Admixture Tech /Pharmacy Tech performs technical, non-judgmental aspects of medication preparation, distribution, record keeping, and inventory control. Tasks are subject to sequential or final verification by a registered nurse or a registered pharmacist. Specific state laws may regulate that only licensed individuals perform compounding or mixing responsibilities; hence, certain incumbents may be prohibited from these tasks.

* Prepare medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
* Checks all orders for completeness of information.
* Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization.

* Under a professional's supervision, admixes drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines, and preparing all drugs within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines.

* Checks drugs monthly for outdates. Keeps accurate temperature logs. Keeps accurate logs on all protocol drugs and patient assistance drugs.
* Maintains proper control documentation of medications, including lot numbers and all other quality assurance activities.
* Complete inventory control of medications. Orders supplies and medications. Receives and shelves medications. Ensures that standard drug supplies are in adequate supply in all departments.
* Prepares labels. Files and prepares billing.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:
Level I
* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Entry level to three (3) years experience in a pharmacy.
* IV Certification strongly preferred.
* Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board requirement recommended.
Level II (in addition to Level I requirements)
* Minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience in a pharmacy with I.V. skills.
Level Senior (in addition to Level I and II requirements)
* Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in a pharmacy with I.V. skills.
* Oncology background preferred or extensive I.V. preparation experience.

What does the Phlebotomist do? (including but not limited to)

What does the Certified Medical Assistant do? (Including but not limited to)
Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, i.e. exams, and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physicians schedule. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities

* Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
* Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.

* Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
* Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
* Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician.

* Answers patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
* Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
* Informs physician of patient reschedules and no shows.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:
Level I
* High school graduate or equivalent.
* Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
* This is an entry level position requiring zero (0) to three (3) years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
* Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
* Some state regulations may require specific certifications in order to work as a Medical Assistant

What does the Scheduler do? (including but not limited to):

What does the PET Technologist do? (including but not limited to)
Under general supervision, performs PET imaging procedures and related functions. Collaborates with Medical Director and management on technical issues, equipment performance and QA. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Qualifications

Level 1
* Associates or Bachelors degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or from an AMA accredited program or Associates or Bachelors degree in Radiologic Technology from an AMA accredited program and PET-CT certification.
* Minimum three to five years experience in nuclear medicine and/or previous PET experience preferred.
* General knowledge of patient scheduling and billing systems.
* CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) and/or ARRT (N) certification and state licensure where applicable.
Level 2 (in addition to level 1 requirements
* Minimum five years experience in nuclear medicine including at least two years previous PET or nuclear medical experience.

* Assists with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision of a physician.
* Checks all orders for completeness of information. Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization.
* Under direct supervision, admixes drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines, and preparing all drugs within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines.
* Calculates correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
* Assists in counting controlled drugs weekly and maintain records. Properly disposes all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs.
* Assists in cleaning hoods daily checking drugs monthly for outdates and other quality assurance activities as assigned.

What does the Medical Physicist do?
The Medical Physicist is responsible for the design optimization, technical evaluation, and precise and accurate delivery of radiation treatment plans. Responsible for the safety of patients and staff. May participate in clinical, research and educational duties. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Facilities and Equipment:
The Texas Oncology - The Gulf Coast has 10 cancer centers that provide a full range of external beam radiation and HDR therapy procedures. We currently have 10 linacs (TrueBeam and C-Series), 4 Elekta HDR's, ARIA ROIS, Eclipse, RadCalc used to treat 250 patients per day. The successful candidate will join our team of 8 board certified physicists, 9 board certified radiation oncologists, 7 board certified dosimetrists and Physics Resident program in the Gulf Coast Region. All sites share a single database for ROIS, treatment planning, 2nd check program, and SNC SunCHECK. QA tools include, but are not limited to IC Profiler, MapCheck2, SNC Routine, and 3D scanning system.
