Review prospect's needs and wants for the product/services offered and work with the Senior Sales Engineer, System Engineers, and the Sales team to develop the right solution. Attend site surveys for new projects and gather relevant site details in order to create the scope of work including equipment and labor estimate. Prepare estimates for low-voltage systems including AV, security, access control, and surveillance systems. Gather information to determine proper system components from internal and vendor resources. Document equipment needed and labor time required for each project. Work with vendors and manufacturers to develop bills of materials and proposals. Level vendor quotes and negotiate costs to increase profit margins, as well as identify missing components in the scope of work to avoid additional project costs and reduced margins after the project is sold. Provide accurate, timely and competitive project estimates/quotes to the sales team that support the detailed scopes of work outlined in Sales Proposals, RFIs, RFPs etc. Review product estimate and system design prepared by other team members. Ensure there are no missing components in the scope of work to avoid additional project costs and reduced margins after the project is sold. Create requests for information (RFIs) Create and maintain a database of unit costs, assembly costs, and production rates in D-Tools. Proposal Development Collaborate with the sales and project management teams to develop comprehensive project proposals. Create pitch decks for RFPs and deals company is pursuing. Work with Sales Director and President to price and strategize proposals and bids. Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, project scopes, and schedules to accompany all proposals. Create and complete proposals, ensuring proposals comply with company standards and client expectations. Client Engagement Build relationships with GC estimators to have the best shot at winning projects. Meet with potential clients to discuss project requirements and specifications. Provide technical support and clarification on estimates and proposals. Foster relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and client referrals. Maintain and grow bid relationships - the estimating manager will maintain and grow relationships but not limited to contractors, manufactures, subcontractors, distributors and consultants. Search for relevant publicly available RFPs, bid-opportunities and partnerships in various sectors. Vendor & Subcontractor Management Source and manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality work. Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations. Manage sub-contractor descoping meetings. Continuous Improvement Analyze project cost performance and implement improvements to the estimating process. Identify department inefficiencies, develop new department processes and implement new policies. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in low-voltage AV/security systems. Project Hand-off Hand-off projects to purchasing and operations at the internal kickoff meetings. Work closely with project managers to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred but not required). Minimum of 5 years' experience in estimating within the low-voltage AV / security industry. Proficient in estimation software such D-Tools Strong understanding of low-voltage systems, including AV integration, security systems, and network infrastructure. Full-time Description Tikra Roofing is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Commercial Roofing Estimator to support our growing pipeline of commercial projects. This role is responsible for analyzing project specifications, preparing accurate bids, and supporting the sales and operations teams with timely, data-driven estimates. The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Some travel to job sites is required. Key Responsibilities Takeoff & Estimating: Analyze blueprints, project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to create accurate roofing estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and sub costs. Bid Management: Prepare and submit bids in accordance with bid deadlines. Track active bids and follow up with general contractors, developers, or internal sales teams. Scope Development: Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to define scopes of work and identify any exclusions, alternates, or value-engineered options. Description: Project Manager Job Description Essential Functions: Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close out the project. Schedule and manage job kick off meetings, disseminate all required info (MTO, Drawings, SPECS, etc.) (to be provided by Estimating) Start and maintain job file on all projects to include completed work order/traveler, specifications provided by customer, special instructions given by customer, delivery tickets for free issue items, welding procedures, weld maps, all material requisitions, purchase orders, material traceability documents, non-destructive testing reports, hydro test reports and charts, paint specs with daily paint reports, loadout manifests and any other pertinent information related to the project. In cases where estimating creates material order during bid phase or Project Coordinator creates a material order, confirms accuracy of the material order prior to release. Ensure that all for all purchases a Purchase Order number has been obtained and that vendors place said PO number on all invoices along with BBI Job number Maintain communication with customer (or customer's representative) and provide information regarding changes in delivery or project revisions to Project Coordinator (when used), and Project Superintendent Ensure that all drawings and/or instructions to be issued contain the following information: Project Job #, Project Manager Name and Customer Name. Recognize, capture, and execute change orders for scope changes/additions. Monitor project cost vs budget and be able to explain deviations. Maintain project schedule, issue schedule updates and progress reports to customer as required. For any tracking documentation (pipe trackers, equipment tracking, customer supplied items, etc.) that are required for the project, the Project Manager will create the tracking document and format as necessary, obtain updates from yard/field personnel and populate actual percent complete status. Maintain/monitor inventory on all stored equipment and material for customer's specific jobs. Execute proactive Project Management approach through communication with Field Supervision. Utilize hands-on management approach by checking and monitoring critical project aspects against drawing and specification requirements and then relaying critical concerns to Field Supervision for execution. Issue survey to client after completion of project. Ensure pictures are obtained and filed once project is complete.
