The Senior Director, Global Security Platforms & Systems, serves as the principal architect and operational lead for Verizon's physical security technology ecosystem and is a direct report to the Chief Security Officer. This executive leader orchestrates the convergence of traditional physical security hardware, bespoke software development, and advanced data intelligence. This role is responsible for ensuring that global assets-ranging from retail hubs to critical network infrastructure-are protected by high-availability, cyber-resilient, and frictionless security solutions.
Responsibilities
* Direct the end-to-end lifecycle of an $17M+ physical security portfolio,managing vendor selection, rigorous design, and large-scale deployment across corporate, GRE, and retail environments.
* Codify and maintain global security standards to ensure seamless interoperability hardening across all new facility builds and modernizations.
* Guarantee 99%+ uptime for mission-critical platforms (Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection) through remote diagnostics, proactive testing, and sophisticated vendor maintenance regimes.
* Champion the integration of emerging technologies-including AI-driven threat detection and frictionless access-utilizing a dedicated lab for stress-testing and hardware vetting.
* Accelerate the shift from reactive to predictive security by deploying advanced data science, high-fidelity data feeds, and automated workflows to minimize manual intervention.
* Lead the Global Corporate Security Technologies (GCST) team in developing proprietary applications and sophisticated data visualizations (Tableau/ESRI) to provide real-time executive insights.
* Harden the global hardware estate against evolving cyber threats by integrating strict security frameworks and automated patching into the total service lifecycle.
* Orchestrate complex maintenance regimes and operating system upgrades, utilizing sophisticated vendor dispatch to minimize downtime across the global ecosystem.
Key Qualifications
* Experience: 12+ years in Corporate Security, Systems Engineering, or Technology Leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Criminal Justice required; Master's degree or relevant certifications (CPP, CISSP) highly preferred.
* Technical Breadth: Deep knowledge of physical security hardware (Genetec, Lenel, etc.), IoT, and software development lifecycles (SDLC).
* Proven track record managing multi-million dollar CAPEX/OPEX budgets and large-scale vendor contracts.
* Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams consisting of engineers and data scientists.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The OTE range for candidates within the Greater Chicago Area is $203,875 - $251,550.
