As a Furniture Technician you will be responsible for providing high quality repairs for every customer. The duties and expectations of this job are as follows:
Customer Work Orders
Call all scheduled customers between 8 am and 10 am
Run all calls that are scheduled for the day
Expected to perform quality repairs such as;
Repair and or touch up of leather
Repair or sewing of fabric
Replace reclining mechanisms
Wood burn in and touch-up
Repair and reinforce furniture frames
Case good assembly
Perform Bedding inspections
Order parts and put comments in work order from the customers home
Finalize all billing notes from the customers home (symptom work performed - parts used labor amount)
Additional tasks, both within the scope of this position and outside of it, will be assigned and are expected to be completed within the agreed upon time frame.

Position Summary
The Area HVAC Technician is responsible for the contractor oversite for system replacements, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems across properties within a 150-mile radius of Dayton, OH. This role involves weekly travel, a mix of day trips and overnight stays, and requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of commercial HVAC systems including:
Split Systems, Package Units, Rooftops
Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems (DOAS)
Variable Air Volume (VAV) and Parallel Fan-Powered Units (PIU)
Chillers, Boilers, Exhaust Fans, and HVAC Controls
Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to reduce downtime.
Troubleshoot electrical wiring, circuitry, and control systems.
Use HVAC software and mobile applications for diagnostics, reporting, and workflow management.
Effectively manage multiple service calls while meeting deadlines.
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for parts procurement and warranty claims.
Communicate technical issues in clear, non-technical language to clients.
Remain current with industry trends and best practices.
Requirements:
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of experience with commercial or industrial mechanical HVAC systems.
Strong background with Chiller and Boiler systems.
Familiarity with building safety systems (e.g., CO/NO2 detection, stairwell pressurization).
Experience working with Daikin VRV or similar systems.
Universal EPA Certification
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Experience with vertical lift systems.
Valid driver's license and clean MVR required.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree or technical diploma in HVAC technology.
OSHA safety training or equivalent knowledge (training can be provided).
Additional certifications such as NATE or HVAC Excellence.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Independent, detail-oriented, and safety-focused.

The Service Technician performs various corrective and preventive maintenance duties and special projects to maintain and enhance Crawford Hoying's residential properties. Duties include, but are not limited to, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and grounds maintenance. Depending on the size of the property, this individual may work alone or with others, with or without supervision, and is expected to complete duties in a manner that meets or exceeds standards set by Crawford Hoying.
Job Responsibilities
Completes maintenance work and service requests, such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, masonry, and other general maintenance, in accordance with company standards and local city, state, and federal building codes
Provides on-call maintenance for evenings, weekends, and holidays, as scheduled
Updates the status of all work orders
Executes the make-ready/turn process
Completes the move-out checklist, assigning appropriate move-out charges, and forwards it to management for approval and account reconciliation
Schedules and inspects vendor/contractor work to ensure quality, completeness, and compliance with company standards
Inspects all rent-ready apartments to ensure that maintenance items are completed and that the apartment is move-in ready
Inspects physical buildings and/or apartment sites, including all roofs, garages, carports, driveways, streets, stucco, siding, pools, building, recreational facilities, and grounds, identifying all areas in need of immediate or future repairs and maintenance and providing an inspection report to the appropriate manager for review

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience
1-3 years of related maintenance/janitorial experience
EPA certification preferred, but not required
High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by specialized courses or on-the-job in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and/or carpentry
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to operate hand tools; knowledge of first aid and safety procedures
Valid driver's license required
Work Environment
The Service Technician works onsite at a residential property and interfaces with external and internal customers, residents, and vendors on a regular basis. The work schedule varies depending on the property. Hours are typically scheduled within 7:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday-Friday. On-call rotation-every three weeks with fellow technicians. Candidates must be available to work overtime and on-call, as needed, and must be flexible and readily available, depending on the needs of the property.
Physical Requirements
The candidate's physical condition must be sufficient for the consistent and successful completion of the responsibilities defined for this position. This position frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. This position may require lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and operating power tools. Candidate must be able to occasionally drive during the course of work.
