Under supervision of the practitioner, inform patients of lab results, call in prescriptions to pharmacies and return practitioners' phone messages. As our Cardiac Nurse, you'll care for patients who may have life-threatening cardiac events or conditions while helping their families navigate daily care and the long-term plan for healing and maintenance outside of the hospital.
You'll never have the same day twice as your patients' needs evolve. That's why you must be adaptable and detail-oriented, observing vitals and reporting the warning signs early to our multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, EKG techs, and other cardiovascular professionals.

+ Complete multiple request forms for FMLA, disability, CDL and disability forms, FAA and other documentation.
+ Reviews protocols established for each procedure/study and provides patient with specifically-tailored training/information based on unique patient medical history and physician-specific protocols.
+ Reviews patient medical records in detail to determine medication regimes (e.g. blood thinner medications, insulin, etc) and confirms what and how to take them prior to the procedure.
+ Applies procedural guidelines as they relate to the patient's medical history and concomitant morbidities; orders pre-procedural lab tests and medications per protocols.
+ Coordinates and provides pre- and post-operative instructions on multiple different device implantations, watchman procedure as well as evaluate for wound infections post-procedure.
+ Provides post-procedure instructions to patient with regard to what to do and who/when to call with questions or concerns.

+ Obtain and record vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem. Anticipates the needs of the patient and the practitioner during the exam. Ensure patient privacy and comfort during the exam; instruct patients in the collection of samples and other tests.
+ Administer ordered medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular or intradermal routes. Start intravenous lines and administer intravenous fluids with appropriate certification. Under supervision of the practitioner, inform patients of lab results, call in prescriptions to pharmacies and return practitioners' phone messages. Documents all procedures and interactions in patient's medical record. Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures to appropriate level of training and established procedures
+ Supervises all aspects of employee management including selection, orientation, training and staffing of the nursing staff; ensures the effective development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Coordination of nursing activities with practitioners. Prepare clinical staff schedules. Monitor, edit and sign off on staff timecards each pay period.
+ Conduct employee performance appraisals for supervised staff, setting individual goals and follow-up as outlined in policies and procedures.
+ Review departmental supply requisitions, oversee records and reports. Track and analyze nurse staff expenses. Prepare, recommend, and monitor departmental budget, goals, and objectives taking into consideration input from clinic staff.
+ Participate in required meetings and professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations. Attend conferences and workshops. Required membership on the Clinic's Disaster Recovery Team

**Job Summary and Responsibilities** As our Ambulatory RN, you will thoughtfully coordinate and oversee the clinical team, ensuring compassionate, high-quality care for clinic patients and families. Every day, you will actively support patients in meeting health goals, monitor outcomes, optimize service utilization, and maintain vital communication with patients, providers, and staff.

**Job Requirements**
**Required**
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- One to three (1-3 years) of experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting
- RegisteredNurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, typically through the American Heart Association (AHA)
**Preferred**
- One to three (1-3) years recent clinical experience as a RegisteredNurse
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
