Minimum Qualifications: Certified in the State of Virginia as Police Officer; knowledge in community policing techniques; general knowledge of the rules of evidence and laws of search and seizure; ability to deal effectively with young adults; ability to analyze evidence; ability to properly question and interview individuals; ability to organize and prepare clear and concise oral and written reports; skilled in the use of firearms and police equipment; possession of physical ability and endurance; ability to establish effective working relationships with students, parents, school officials, fellow workers and the public. Subject to criminal history and credit report. High school degree or equivalent, responsible work experience. Preferred Qualifications: Certified community police specialist; DCJS certified basic instructor.
