HEAD START/EARLY HEAD START
For children aged three to five we offer early education, child development, nutrition, parenting support and preparation for elementary school. All children receive educational experiences that are developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate. The focus is on readiness to move to kindergarten. Literacy, numeracy, and social/emotional development are areas measured for growth and development.
JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
The Mental Health Specialist II is responsible for providing a broad spectrum of mental health services, including mental health promotion, harm prevention, early identification of mental health concerns, and referrals for treatment of children and families.
Reporting to and in coordination with the Mental Health Clinical Coordinator, the Mental Health Specialist II shall increase the quality of mental health services by assessing child mental health concerns, determining appropriate mental health care and follow-up, and provide clinical services to children and families with mental health needs in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards. Work in conjunction with program content areas as needed to ensure a holistic approach.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Design, operate and maintain a HIPAA - complaint system for identifying each client and his/her identified personal and community supports including, but not limited to the Mental Health Services Provider
Be knowledgeable of community services and supports including, but not limited to health care, child care, alcohol and substance abuse treatment, education, and/or employment services and self-help groups, and make this information readily available
Ensure face to face contact with each client at least 2 times per month
Conduct ongoing assessments/evaluations to monitor progress and provide appropriate interventions as needed, including coordination with the Mental Health Clinical Coordinator
Coordinate onsite and/or offsite self-help groups and tenant councils that plan social activities for residents
Provide life skills training which includes, but is not limited to, health education, money management, housekeeping, menu planning, meal preparation, and being a good neighbor
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
Proof at the time of hire
TB clearance within 6 months prior
Annual Influenza vaccination (between Aug 1 Dec 1)
Pertussis (whooping cough) and measles immunization
Health screening at the time of employment
Requires ability to interact with children in a busy environment including, but not limited to:

EDUCATION:

Provide all children with linkages to necessary mental health services to ensure that children and families achieve the full benefits of participation in the program.
Provide mental health education to parents of children enrolled in the program by participating in parent meetings, home visits, Health advisory meetings, or other methods determined effective.
Plan and prepare mental health education trainings, for staff, on determined topics or as requested
Conduct Mental Health Planning, intra- agency procedure formulation, staff development and wellness development of wellness curriculum through evaluation process and training
Conduct ongoing assessments/evaluations to monitor progress and provide appropriate interventions as needed, under supervision of the Mental Health Clinical Coordinator
Directly reports to Mental Health Program Manager, participates in clinical supervision to consult on individual and group cases to explore appropriate direction of clinical treatment.
Encourage the provision of a classroom and home environment that enhances feelings that increase well-being in children and parents by observation and consultation with parents and staff
Attends all meeting required by the funding source and agency management; prepares and submits required reports promptly and accurately. (Note: Travel required.)
Identifies resources that are necessary to enhance program implementation; Maintain and monitors federal compliance with HSES Performance Standards in all content areas
Travel to all program sites to provide technical assistance.

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
Case Manager Entry provides entry level case management services to clients classified as low acuity, serving on a team that is the central point of contact to coordinate services and care for assigned clients. These positions serve individuals and families residing in interim and permanent housing. They support and provide services in the areas of assessment; care planning; coaching and social support; connections to direct services; care coordination and system navigation; education about the health and social service system; outreach and engagement, and capacity building for individuals who were experiencing homelessness and are now mostly housed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assessment Work as Part of a team to conduct assessment of participant strengths and needs.
Coaching for Social Support of participants
Care Coordination, Case Management, System and Housing Navigation
Advocacy on behalf of participants before other clinical, agency and community settings
Capacity Building Motivate participants and connect them to appropriate programs
Outreach and Engagement locate assigned participants, secure a safe place while resolving needs
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assessment: through individual meetings on a regular basis and as part of Case Management team develop a detailed plan of action to meet the clients needs, set goals and find the necessary resources to meet those goals
Coaching and Social Support accompany participants to activities and services
Coordinate Care and Case Management as part of team, connecting participants to appropriate services
Advocacy for participants before other agencies/community settings
Capacity Building motivating participant progress
Outreach and Engagement Meet participants and bring into programs
Other duties as required and may be subject to change
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
EDUCATION:
Case Management training within 6 months of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
6 Months of Social Services case related experience,
OR Associate s Degree in Social Services related field in lieu of experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Current California driver's license and clean driving record

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
The Case Manager Generalist provides case management services to clients classified as low acuity. The Case Manager Generalist is the primary point of contact to coordinate services and care for assigned clients. Each Case Manager Generalist handles a caseload of individuals in need of a wide variety of human services resources and provides the full range of services available.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts comprehensive screenings and assessments with individuals (or families) to collect functional, environmental, psycho-social, financial, employment, housing, educational, and health information, as appropriate
Assess barriers facing the clients and develop a case plan.
Coordinate individualized planning with clients to meet short- and long-term needs.
Provide service linkages and support systems to ensure identified needs are met.
Coordinates case conferences with residents, consults with service team, monitors progress of clients on case plan, assists clients to meet the agreed upon goals.
Acts as advocate for client before judicial, community, social service, and administrative bodies as needed; facilitates support groups and client participation as appropriate.

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
The VOALA Clinical Counsellor shall work in conjunction with the Senior Program Manager and other program staff to provide clinical counseling and crisis intervention to survivors of human trafficking in a comprehensive wrap-around case management approach utilizing a trauma-informed, strengths-based, culturally sensitive and survivor-centered model. The Clinical Counselor will establish trust and rapport with survivors of human trafficking, ensuring confidentiality and protection of identity within confines of the law
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Case Managers in providing crisis counseling/stabilization, needs assessments and developing Individual Service Plans for human trafficking survivors
Conduct individual and group clinical counseling with survivors, as indicated in their ISPs, incorporating the following Evidence-Based Practices: Trauma-Informed Care, Positive Youth Development, Ending the Game, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, and Harm Reduction
Conduct individual and group clinical counseling with children of survivors, as needed
Provide active support and advocacy to ensure supportive services for victims and their children are secured, as indicated in the ISPs
Actively manage case files and daily progress notes per VOALA and Cal OES protocol
Actively participate in care coordination teams to ensure an intensive wrap-around approach to service delivery, including aftercare, for survivors
Participate and assist with community awareness events, including providing survivor awareness and identification training to law enforcement, FBOs and CBOs
Maintain and build partnerships and coalitions with other community and government agencies providing relief to human trafficking survivors
Participate with other staff on a rotating schedule to provide an immediate, sensitive response for survivors on a 24/7 basis, including coordination with law enforcement
Actively participate in weekly supervision with Program Manager to process transference and counter transference issues that may arise as a result of service delivery
Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum total 3 years of experience working with trauma-informed care to homeless or the vulnerable youth.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Active LSW, MFT, AFT OR SUDCC Level III certificates
Priority for this position will be given to hiring a survivor of human trafficking.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
