    Redwood City, CA jobs

The Team CZI supports the science and technology that will make it possible to help scientists cure, prevent, or manage all diseases by the end of this century. While this may seem like an audacious goal, in the last 100 years, biomedical science has made tremendous strides in understanding biological systems, advancing human health, and treating disease. Achieving our mission will only be possible if scientists are able to better understand human biology. To that end, we have identified four grand challenges that will unlock the mysteries of the cell and how cells interact within systems - paving the way for new discoveries that will change medicine in the decades that follow: Building an AI-based virtual cell model to predict and understand cellular behavior Developing state-of-the-art imaging systems to observe living cells in action Instrumenting tissues to better understand inflammation, a key driver of many diseases Engineering and harnessing the immune system for early detection, prevention, and treatment of disease CZI's work in science includes grantmaking programs, open-source software development, and close collaboration with the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network. The CZ Biohub Network includes the San Francisco, Chicago, and New York Biohubs as well as the Chan Zuckerberg Imaging Institute. CZI also collaborates with institutional partners like the Kempner Institute for the Study of Natural & Artificial Intelligence at Harvard University. Join us in accelerating science. The Opportunity We are seeking a Principal Product Manager with deep expertise in biology to lead the development of AI-powered workflows that accelerate scientific discovery. In this role, you will partner with scientists to translate research needs into scalable products that integrate AI models into real-world experimental workflows. As part of the Science Technology (SciTech) team, you will shape products that empower computational and experimental researchers to use AI for in silico experimentation, hypothesis generation, data interpretation, and biological modeling. You will work across disciplines to identify high-impact opportunities where AI can meaningfully accelerate scientific progress, and translate them into impactful, scalable tools integrated within the CZI Virtual Cells Platform. Examples include: Multi-modal workflows for users to run inference on models with their own data (e.g., annotation, healthy vs. disease comparisons). Tools to run and visualize in silico experiments using AI models, e.g. simulate how specific gene knockouts affect cell behavior in a virtual T-cell model. A visualization library for exploring multi-dimensional biological imaging data. Enabling the use of AI agents that assist experimental biologists in designing experiments by integrating prior datasets, model predictions, and literature insights. What You'll Do Define and drive the product strategy for AI-powered biological workflows to enable in silico experimentation. Collaborate with scientific partners to deeply understand research needs and translate them into high-impact model applications, bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI research and its real-world application in biological discovery. Partner with AI PMs, ML researchers, engineers, and designers to integrate models into intuitive, impactful tools. Help shape model roadmaps and value propositions by working closely with CZI's ML researchers. Collate and translate the needs of the CZ Imaging research teams into a platform strategy. Serve as the voice of the biologist in product development, ensuring tools align with experimental research needs. What You'll Bring 12+ years of product management or related experience, with a strong background in genomics, imaging, immunology, or other relevant biological domains. Experience in computational biology and/or applying AI models for in silico workflows. Proven track record of partnering with scientists to develop domain-specific tools or platforms. Ability to translate complex biological research needs into product requirements and workflows. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and external partners. About LoopLoop is a Stand Together Foundation technology platform partnering with 211 helplines nationwide to revolutionize social service delivery. By "closing the loop" with every caller through SMS follow-ups and data-driven insights, Loop transforms one-time referrals into measurable outcomes and continuous improvement cycles. Our platform doesn't just collect data - it creates invisible intelligence that helps 211 specialists make better referrals, enables service providers to understand their true capacity and impact, and most importantly, ensures that people in crisis get connected to help that actually works. Early pilots demonstrate strong caller engagement and show how 211s are already using this intelligence to improve funding decisions and service delivery. The OpportunityAs Senior Product Manager for Loop, you will lead the strategy and execution for this mission-critical platform that directly impacts millions of Americans navigating a crisis. In your first 6-12 months, you will * Deliver a 2026 roadmap that scales Loop to more 211s and pilots peer-informed recommendation flows (“invisible intelligence”). * Strengthen product analytics and reporting (caller outcomes, connection rates, provider capacity signals) and ship improvements to the provider reports and dashboards. * Run discovery with 211 leadership and front-line specialists; validate/prioritize features that improve referral success and follow-up quality. * Stand up an experiment pipeline (hypothesis → metric → test → decision) for messaging, workflows, and matching logic. Communicate progress, decisions, and learnings to STF leadership and partner 211s. Product performance measurement Define and monitor North Star and guardrail metrics (e.g., response rate, connection rate, time-to-help, opt-in follow-ups, provider signal freshness, recommendation adoption). Partner with data/engineering to instrument analytics and ship insights to 211s and providers. Agile collaboration (lightweight) Facilitate scrum ceremonies for the Loop team (planning, stand-ups, retros) and maintain a healthy backlog in partnership with the Eng Lead/TPM. Comfortable facilitating agile rituals and collaborating deeply with engineers and data teams. Enthusiasm to contribute to Stand Together's vision and principled approach to solving problems, and a commitment to stewarding our culture, which champions values including transformation and innovation, entrepreneurialism, humility, and respect.
