Job Information Exemption Status: Non-Exempt This experienced student team member is in their last semester of an accredited nursing program. Nurse Interns are team members typically work exclusively with their preceptors to bridge the gap from learner to perform as they end their practicum prior to begining their career as a Registered Nurse at Stormont Vail Health. They are a part of the care delivery team under the direction of and be assistive to, a Registered Nurse to provide delegated, direct patient care intervention, including the performance of non-sterile procedures. Responsible to provide a safe environment for their assigned patients; to complete the assigned work; to monitor the patient for changes in condition and to report those changes to the RN/LPN.
Education Qualifications
A current nursing student in good standing and would start in this role no more than 4 weeks prior to starting their last semester. Required

What you will do
Knowledgeable of and follows correct techniques in the collection and labeling of specimens; assists in appropriate procedures under the guidance of a preceptor. Will spend the majority of time directly with the RN Preceptor observing direct patient care duties. Student Nurse Interns will perform expanded skills under the direct supervision of their nurse preceptor (see RN Student Nurse Intern - Learn While you Work Document).
Implements identified plan through coordination of care with interdisciplinary care team to employ strategies to promote health and wellness.
Collaborative with interdisciplinary care team encompassing strategies to achieve expected outcomes. Assumes responsibility for patient safety by utilizing appropriate channels to communicate patient safety and patient care issues to appropriate bodies.
Communicate pertinent data and information relative to the patient, situation, or setting in a timely manner.
Applies proper techniques with hand washing, care and cleaning of exam rooms and equipment and determination of when and how to use personal protective clothing/equipment. Maintains cleanliness of equipment, examination and patient rooms. Promote infection prevention through use of standard precautions, proper procedure in dressing changes, wound care, hand hygiene and cleanliness of the patient rooms/department
Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADL'S), accurate measurement and recording of weight, height, vital signs and report any changes to assigned nurse. Obtains vital signs, medication list, allergies, and patient questionnaires, screenings and history information accurately. Applies appropriate technique while performing EKG, and vital signs. Performs other related nursing tasks and duties under the supervision of a preceptor at all times.

What you will do
Properly use dispensing and barcoding technology to ensure accurate medication selection, stocking, and order fulfillment for all patient orders. Ensure accuracy of prescription and patient data entered in various systems. Review all relevant clinical information and clarifies with pharmacist/prescriber as appropriate. Works with payers to resolve insurance-related issues, assists with financial assistance programs as needed.
Deliver excellent customer service to health care providers and patients, by greeting them in person and by phone, answering questions and requests with pharmacist supervision, and responding to messages in the Epic In Basket and Epic Secure Chat.
Provide support to pharmacists by answering telephone calls and responding to messages. Will include research of basic clinical questions and drug information and drug compatibility questions.
Will undertake clinical functions under pharmacist supervision up to level of education including but not limited to the offering and provision of counseling to patients on medications and administration of vaccinations.
Manipulate and dispense hazardous and non-hazardous medications per department procedure.
Complies with HIPAA/HITECH regulations.
Assist in the planning, implementation, and process management of technological initiatives and pharmacy workflow improvements.
Manage and maintain medication outdates for assigned areas as required. Receive and stock the daily medication order from drug wholesaler. Operate the point-of-sale system to ring out customer transactions, including making change when required.

Under the administrative/clinical supervision of the TEAM Supervisor/ Field Instructor, the School Centered Clinical Intern provides psychotherapy, assessment consultation and prevention services to clients, their families, and significant others as needed. As a member of a treatment team, the School Centered Clinical Intern will provide services in both schools and in-homes as directed by a TEAM Supervisor. Field hours are flexible, some evenings may apply.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The School Centered Clinical Intern Intern provide the following services, including, but not limited to:
Individual and/or group counseling
School and family education

Advocacy
Information and referral
Transportation
Alcohol and drug education and prevention
Group work
Crisis intervention
Assessment
Other services necessary to the enrichment of the internship environment.
Formulate goal oriented treatment plan with a step-oriented process to prevent recurrence of crisis and to stabilize the client.
Complete all required trainings and thoroughly maintain all necessary client records.
Maintain all required expectations as developed between the graduate program and the student's field instructor.
Provide client coverage during any school vacation period if needed for appropriate client care.
Submit and utilize a goal attainment scale or other approved system to allow for supervision and evaluation of the success of the treatment plan.
Provide advocacy and liaison work with schools, the justice system, social services, health services, and other community agencies as needed.
Responsible for timely termination/evaluation of cases.
Adhere to Agency/ACS/ NASW codes of conduct and ethics. Adhere to Learning Contract as designed by Student and Field Instructor.
OTHER DUTIES:
Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client's treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum Master's student in Social Work or Counseling required.
Licensure: SWT or CT required.

Strong clinical skills including training and/or classroom experience expertise in therapy, crisis intervention, education, behavioral interventions, and substance abuse therapy.

Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for over 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.
We are currently seeking Clinical Counseling Interns to provide structured time-limited face-to-face clinical interventions for patients of the agency who are seeking behavioral health treatment or crisis intervention. The Intern will provide these services under the supervision of an assigned clinical supervisor and in accordance with the policies/procedures of the agency as well ethical codes of conduct. Clinical interventions provided may include
,
individual therapy, group therapy, diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, clinical documentation, screenings and assessments, safety planning.
Patient services are provided within Zepf locations or, as appropriate, in the patient's natural environment. HIPAA regulations will be observed at all times to protect the patient's privacy and maintain confidentiality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides clinical interventions under the supervision of a clinical supervisor holding an independent license in the same licensing field as the student (LISW-S).
May provide crisis intervention services.
Provides individual therapy.
May provide group therapy.
Maintains required documentation per agency standards including, but not limited to diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, progress notes for services rendered, transfer/discharge summaries, screening and assessment, safety planning
Follows all policy and procedures of the agency.
Adheres to ethical codes of conduct at all times.
Completes agency required trainings.
Participates in team meetings as available.
Consults and collaborates with other members of the patient's treatment team to facilitate care coordination.
