Swing Shift: 1pm - 10pm Role of the Equipment Maintenance Supervisor Supervises maintenance employees in all or part of an operating company. Schedules and directs the activities of the maintenance shop personnel, on various shifts, to service and repair vehicles and equipment including maintenance and repairs of the yard, maintenance shop and facilities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Essential Responsibilities
* Monitors workflow, adjusts schedules, and assigns employees as appropriate to rebalance workload when necessary to minimize downtime.
* Supports the Equipment Maintenance Manager in ensuring all facets of the maintenance operations are met.
* Ensures that maintenance personnel adhere to established policies for inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment in addition to ensuring all company policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreement (as applicable) are followed.
* Assists with purchasing of parts, supplies, tools, and machinery, as required, in support of the maintenance operation.
* Assists with recordkeeping tasks related to service, repair, parts, inventory, vehicles, and equipment activities (Drivers Vehicle Inspection Reports, Equipment Condition Reports, etc.).
* Conducts periodic inspections and audits of facilities and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, effective, and compliant maintenance operations. Identifies potential safety hazards and takes appropriate action to ensure personnel safety. Investigates and evaluates cause and extent of damage to equipment failures and vehicles involved in accidents. Maintains strong communications between mechanic team and operations.
* Must be able to work any assigned shift and respond to equipment emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

* Possession of a high school diploma or GED required.

SUMMARY

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plant Maintenance Management - Manages a team of energy generation staff responsible for maintaining power plant electrical, control and/or mechanical equipment in safe, efficient and economical working condition; provides technical management for the team, ensures that objectives are met and all relevant standards/procedures and regulations (environmental and safety) are followed; ensures that maintenance problems are identified and resolved; ensures that fleet and/or plant maintenance procedures and working practices are current and fit for the purpose; responsible for the safe execution of work.
Maintenance Program Management - Directs the development, implementation and execution of maintenance programs including preventive, diagnostic and analytical maintenance practices and procedures for the plant; ensures a high degree of plant availability and reliability; manages all maintenance planning and scheduling activities including achieving corporate goals for scheduled outages; maintains maintenance performance metrics and provides trend information to the plant manager; works with other functional areas and plant management to balance goals and costs to achieve best results; develops, administers and enforces procedures and policies for plant maintenance; represents the plant on capital projects affecting the project site.
Contract Management - Administers the plant maintenance and related contracts; provides oversight of contractor activities; manages equipment warrantees and the resolution of warranty issues
Procurement - May oversee procurement and warehousing of spare parts for the plant; ensures that all materials procurement practices comply with PGE SOX guidelines.
Emergency Planning/Response - Assists plant manager with implementation of an emergency action plan; develops and maintains procedures for effective plant operation, testing, startup and shutdown, and for operating equipment in emergency situations; leads and/or participates in periodic staff training in carrying out the plans for the plant as it relates to floods, earthquakes, fire, equipment or structural failures and other emergencies.
Safety Leadership - Oversees safety programs and policies; ensures compliance with plant and corporate safety practices.
Financial Management - Monitors and manages expenditures, ensuring that all financial targets are met, and examines any areas where budgets/expenditures vary from plan; assists with the definition and operation of effective financial controls and decision making.

Compensation Range:
$119,840.00 - $222,560.00
Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. Working Conditions:
* This position requires the ability to safely use, handle and inspect equipment containing (and perform maintenance in close proximity to sources of), hazardous energy, hazardous chemicals and hazardous wastes as those terms are defined under various safety and environmental regulations.
* The position requires the use of appropriate personal protective equipment for the hazards identified above. JOB DUTIES:
Equipment and Machinery Duties:
Collaborates and develops a plan with the production team for the addition or replacement of current equipment/machinery, ensuring minimal disruption to the production process.
Assigns projects to appropriate maintenance team members ensuring the dependable operation of plant equipment/machinery.
Establishes relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Ensures work to be conducted has been vetted to be the most cost effective and efficient manner. Determines when repairs/malfunctions occur beyond the scope of internal capabilities, determines most appropriate source and works in conjunction with maintenance supervisor to schedule services.
Maintains continual communications with the Production Supervisor, the maintenance department, plant management, and/or engineering team as projects progress or as production concerns arise.
Interprets mechanical specifications and operational methods of equipment/machinery, training plant team member on the proper use, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment.
Directs, assists, and troubleshoots repairs and breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensures the development, implementation, maintaining and recording of a preventive maintenance program for plant machinery and equipment, the physical plant, utilities and grounds are accomplished to assure the safe and efficient operation in accordance with state, federal, local regulations and company procedures.
Assists the Plant Manager in the development of the plant budget, forecasting team member needs, equipment/machinery repairs or purchases, and facility improvements/additions.
Communicates the progress of new mechanical processes used in production to the Corporate Engineer and recommends modifications to improve production efficiency or cost reduction procedures.
Ensures fundamental food safety and quality practices are maintained to achieve food safety and quality objectives and to support the development, implementation and maintenance and ongoing improvements of food safety programs.
Assists in verifying requirements for OSHA and USDA standards. Makes sure that standards are maintained, necessary logs are up-to-date, and reports are prepared.
Other Duties:
Acts as Safety Coordinator for the plant.
Reviews and approves standard operating procedures for the maintenance team.
Partners with all other plant leaders to ensure that all OSHA and plant safety policies and procedures are being followed.
Models safe work practices at all times.

Facilitates the maintenance training program for the maintenance team and provides developmental opportunities to as work/time permits.
Provides input in the hiring of maintenance team members
Leads continuous improvement of maintenance methods and processes.
Directs preventive and repair work orders through CMMS
Prepares weekly work order schedules and reports/updates on current projects to the Maintenance Manager.
Generates and prioritizes work orders for maximum plant operating efficiencies.
Operates forklifts and non-motorized pallet jacks as required.
Assumes responsibilities of Production Supervisors(s) in their absence
In the absence of the Maintenance Superintendent, the Plant Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or a Plant Supervisor will cover the duties of the role.

Ability to adhere to USDA recordkeeping requirements.
Knowledge of the industry, dryer, cooker operation processes.
