    This position delivers the curriculum for the Veterinary Technician AAS degree that meets all requirements for approvals by the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association). This position will be assigned to instruct various courses within the Veterinary Technician Program as mutually agreed upon. Responsible for the success of the Veterinary Technician Program courses assigned to instruct. Responsible for student success and completion of each course. This position must be a team- oriented employee. • This position is assists in the overall success of the Veterinary Technician program and courses. * This position will follow responsibilities as outlined in the faculty handbook. This person will assist the Associate Dean of Career Advancement or other designated faculty in program development and all required approvals. * Evening and weekend hours as well as working between three campuses are required as agreed. The program will be housed primarily at the Blue Ridge CTC Morgan County Center. * This position will ensure the highest quality product in the delivery of courses. This position will assist in all aspects of course delivery including location, adapting to technologies available, scheduling, marketing and working with the appropriate administrative staff to coordinate these delivery needs. * This faculty member will assist with the recruitment, retaining and advising of students in the Veterinary Technician Program * This position will instruct curriculum to be delivered in hybrid and online formats where appropriate on behalf of Blue Ridge CTC. * This position will ensure the highest quality product with AVMA approval in the delivery of the program and courses. * This position will maintain detailed records of student assessment, attendance and performance and complete annual program assessment with data. * This position will promote the Blue Ridge CTC mission and vision statements and represent Blue Ridge CTC in a positive manner possible when addressing students and in public presentations Education * Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Technician Science Preferred with instruction experience * -or- * Associate's Degree with current state license and 10 plus years instructing Veterinary Technician or related training and willingness to obtain a Bachelor's Degree within two years. Experience * Instruction of veterinary technician or veterinary technician related training within a veterinary office. Ability to keep detailed records and produce detailed reports for management regarding supply inventory and quality assurance measures. Ability to use an air purifying respirator by ETSU Health & Safety. Ability to work safely with chemical, biological, microbiological, pathogenic, and other potential hazards. Assists when needed and available and performs only the skills within his/her scope of practice. Assists with the day to day activities and operations of the Emergency Medical Services Program. Ensures routine and periodic maintenance and operation of EMS vehicles and equipment. Maintains pre-established inventory of equipment and supplies, completing forms and documentation in accordance with program standards. Performs a check of patient care supplies on each shift and restock any supplies that are missing. Restocks all kits with needed supplies and medications as soon as vehicle returns to the Medical Center. Completes a state-approved Patient Care Report as soon as possible following an emergency call or transfer, when applicable. Obtains a completed Patient Lifetime Signature form and Physicians Certificate of Medical Necessity when appropriate. Consults with and keeps supervisor informed of activities, needs and problems. Completes daily vehicle maintenance check list each shift. Notifies supervisor of faulty equipment as soon as noted (verbal, telephone or written). Reports unusual events to supervisor in accordance with program policies. Maintains a clean, orderly and safe environment for personnel. Keeps vehicles clean (inside and out) and in an orderly fashion at all times. Keeps lounge, office, and garage clean and in an orderly fashion at all times. Provides non-emergency wheelchair/litter van transports. Operates the wheelchair van and litter van to transport patients to various facilities or a residence within the guidelines of the PA Department of Health. Operates the cancer van to transport radiation oncology patients to appointments. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Performs related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
