Position: Outreach and Resettlement Coordinator
Reports To: Supervisor
Location: 2244 Church Brooklyn, NY
What The Outreach and Resettlement Coordinator Does:
Coordinate community outreach and client recruitment activities including in person and on-line, via social media and other media.
Develop and maintain a social media presence for CAMBA Refugee Services, sharing relevant program information and monitoring and responding to comments and messages.
Develop and implement a monthly outreach plan, including virtual and in-person outreach events and social media posts.
Develop new materials and methods of outreach in response to changing program and client needs.
Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality.
Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.
Comply with any and all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information.
Understand all aspects multiple ever-evolving contracts and the requirements and services definitions for each.
Conduct initial intake and assessment of clients and/or clients' families' situations and needs, including skill levels, prior work experience, employability, interests, aptitudes, support service needs, family and medical history, and individual development needs.
Refer and enroll clients to the program/programs according to the outcome of the intake process.
Advise clients regarding realistic career/employment goals and the education/training necessary to attain them. Work with clients to develop realistic educational/employment goals leading to self-sufficiency.
In collaboration with clients, prepare Individual self-sufficiency employment Plan for each client, identifying employment goal, interim achievement objectives, and services.
Develop strategies with clients regarding how to break through barriers to their short and long-term goals, overcoming resistance to change, and how to advocate for themselves.
Work collaboratively with a team of instructors and job developers with the common goal of successfully advancing participants to employment and/or self-sufficiency.
Maintain professional relationships and confidentiality with clients.
Input client data and client progress/service information into automated database.
Create and maintain client files with detailed records of services provided/financial records, as directed and required by CAMBA, the Department of State, and Funders.
Collect and submit all documentation regarding client and contract outcomes.
Plan and facilitate orientations, assessments, and progress during the course of the program(s).
Recommend and implement strategies to persuade clients to participate to the fullest extent in their own education/employment placement and retention process.
Develop new materials and methods of outreach in response to changing program and client needs.
Act as client liaison/client advocate, both within CAMBA and/or with outside organizations, immigration attorneys and other referral sources regarding such matters as education, healthcare, housing, legal issues, new enrollments and client assessments, etc.
May assist clients and/or their families in completing applications for government programs and in processing these applications with appropriate agencies.
Provide all required information on outreach and case management activities for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.W.) in a related field, or
High School Diploma with two years of relevant experience.
Other Requirements:
Education and experience as described above working with outreach or in direct client services, preferably in the field of refugee resettlement
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, clients, colleagues, funders, partner organizations, and the general public.
Experience and/or ability in planning events or outreach activities.
Strong problem-solving skills, including defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
Culturally competent with a demonstrated commitment to working with refugee populations.

Compensation: $55,000-57,000 annually

Position: Engagement Coordinator
Reports To: Assistant Program Director

What the Engagement Coordinator Does:
Ensure the smooth day-to-day running and supervision of social services staff and services in accordance with program goals, targets, and performance outcomes and all CAMBA and program policies, procedures, and protocols.
Communicate effectively with clients, direct reporting staff, peers, supervisors, and funders.
Provide direct interventions with the clients that are culturally appropriate and take into account the client's communication styles, values and life experiences.
Provide non-direct interventions that support the shelter team and increase communication between functions.
Conduct and document one-on-one supervision with one or more of the following staff; Recreation Coordinator, Adult Literacy Specialist, Peer Counselors and the Employment Specialist in order to engage clients with the skills to obtain employment or enroll in vocational training programs with the ultimate goal to secure housing.
Reinforce, support and integrate trauma informed care, de-escalation techniques and motivational interviewing interventions.
Track and analyze incidents and assist in incident debriefings including; providing crisis management assistance, interventions, and follow up with clients who have patterns of maladaptive behaviors, and education for staff on how to manage incidents from a trauma informed perspective.
Develop workshop curriculum for one or more of the following; Recreation Coordinator, Adult Literacy Specialist, Peer Counselors and Employment Specialist programming components.
Develop community based resources and supports towards agency housing and engagement efforts.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree (e. g., B.A., B.S.W.) and two years of applicable experience; Master's Degree preferred. (A license is required of these Master's Degrees: Social Work (LMSW or LCSW), Mental Health Counseling, Counseling/Guidance, Art Therapy).

What The Engagement Coordinator Does:
The person filling this position is expected, under general direction, to ensure smooth day-to-day running and supervision of social services staff and services in accordance with program goals, targets, and performance outcomes and all CAMBA and program policies, procedures, and protocols, including the following:
Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality
Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures
Comply with any and all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individual identifiable health information.
Communicate effectively with clients, direct reporting staff, peers, supervisors, and funders
Provide direct interventions with the clients that are culturally appropriate and take into account the client's communication styles, values and life experiences
Provide non-direct interventions that support the shelter team and increase communication between functions
Conduct and document one-on-one supervision with one or more of the following staff; Recreation Coordinator, Adult Literacy Specialist, Peer Counselors and the Employment Specialist in order to engage clients with the skills to obtain employment or enroll in vocational training programs with the ultimate goal to secure housing.
Reinforce, support and integrate trauma informed care, de-escalation techniques and motivational interviewing interventions
Track and analyze incidents and assist in incident debriefings including; providing crisis management assistance, interventions, and follow up with clients who have patterns of maladaptive behaviors, and education for staff on how to manage incidents from a trauma informed perspective
Develop workshop curriculum for one or more of the following; Recreation Coordinator, Adult Literacy Specialist, Peer Counselors and Employment Specialist programming components.
Develop community-based resources and supports towards agency housing and engagement efforts
Conduct Crisis Prevention (CPI) trainings for staff members to better inform them of tactics to use to deescalate and appropriately handle incidents within the shelter.
Ensure attainment of funding objectives and performance measures
Conduct field visits to increase community and citywide resources
Create and implement incentive system to increase client participation in on-site and community activities
Plan and organize program activities to maximize program contract's goals and performance targets as outlined in OHS' Performance Incentive Plan and grant contracts.
Motivate, coach and counsel direct reporting staff to excel.
Ensure that all direct reporting staff completes all necessary case management documentations in eluding individual and group case management notes, housing applications, individual living plans (ILP), and referrals to providers including psychiatric referrals are completed as required and up to date.
Encourage teamwork among direct reporting staff as well as among peers
Troubleshoot client and direct reporting staff program problems and make decisions in accordance with program policies, procedures, and protocols
Administer constructive discipline to direct reporting staff, as needed
Input client data using DHS's CARES database, as needed
Monitor clients' progress toward their goals (dates achieved) and document via progress notes
Review all documentation related to clients' progress for accuracy, completeness, and clarity
Review and sign time sheets
Prepare performance appraisals for directed reporting staff
Conduct chart auditing of client files (i.e., paper and electronically).
Ensure staff utilization of electronic database and conduct oversight to ensure data integrity

Youth Enrichment Services (YES) engages school-aged youth between 12 and 21 years old in programming and supportive services that change the culture around violence and encourage positive youth development. YES is delivered in and around schools in neighborhoods with a high prevalence of community violence. YES staff actively recruit and engage youth who are vulnerable to system involvement and may be at risk for interpersonal violence or who have experienced community violence.

What The Client Care Coordinator/Social Worker Does:
Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality.
Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:
Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) required within one year of date of hire. This license must be maintained throughout the course of employment in this role and any other CAMBA positions for which it is required. If Counselor II

What The Client Care Coordinator/Social Worker Does:
Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality.
Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.
Comply with any and all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information.
Assist clients in completing all CAMBA intake applications, screenings and forms.
Create and maintain client files and make file copies.
Conduct initial risk assessment of clients and clients' families.
Prepare initial biopsychosocial evaluation and update according to regulations.
Provide a range of “instant response” services when a client's immediate well-being and safety is threatened.
In collaboration with clients and case managers, assist in the preparation of the initial Independent Living Plan (ILP), including short-term and long-term client goals.
Assist clients in attaining their goals by identifying community resources and by referring clients to appropriate services both within and outside CAMBA (i.e., medical services and psychiatric services, etc.).
Follow-up with clients and with referral organizations regarding client contact and progress with referral organization.
Consult with others both inside and outside of CAMBA to determine causes of client problems and effect solutions.
Act as advocate on behalf of family to arrange medical, psychiatric, educational and other tests/examinations that may disclose
causes of client's difficulties and indicate remedial measures; advocacy efforts must be documented.
Attempt to alter clients' and their families' attitudes and behaviors that cause or aggravate problems.
Facilitate or participate in case conferences with all stakeholders in clients life to ensure a collaborative approach to services.
Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
Lead group counseling sessions and psychoeducation to enhance social development and psychological education of individual
clients and provide peer support.
Monitor clients' progress toward their goals via regularly scheduled face-to-face contacts/sessions.
Document contact with client/family via progress notes in CARES within 48 hours of interaction.
Periodically reassess clients and update services plans and goals to reflect current status.
Follow-up with clients for a period of time after successful completion of their primary goals to assure client stability (aftercare).
Ensure that all clients' charts contain all required documentation.
May reach out and market the program internally to the shelter community in order to recruit clients.
Tasks may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over a period of time.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) required within one year of date of hire. This license must be maintained throughout the course of employment in this role and any other CAMBA positions for which it is required. If Counselor II
fails to obtain the LMSW within one year of the date of hire, the orientation period may be extended for six months at CAMBA's discretion. If Counselor II fails to obtain the required LMSW on CAMBA's required timeline, they will be
terminated.
Two years of relevant experience (preferably family shelters shelter settings)
Other Requirements:
Must obtain State Central Registry (SCR) clearance, The Register of Substantiated Category One Cases of Abuse or Neglect
aka Staff Exclusion List (SEL) clearance and Criminal history information checks via fingerprinting with New York State
Division of Criminal Justice Services prior to start of employment.
Ability to maintain clearances throughout the duration of employment.
Required to become First Aid/CPR certified.
Required to become certified in overdose prevention.
Doctor's confirmation certifying good health (proof of negative TB test results)
Bi-lingual preferred.
Compensation: 67,000-72,000 annually

CAMBA's Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) program is for middle school youth aged 10-13 and their parents/caregivers. The primary goal of the program will be to encourage a healthy transition from early to later adolescence by helping youth 1) develop a positive outlook for their futures based on their unique goals and talents and 2) understand how delaying sexual activity will help them achieve the future they want.

What The Middle School Health Educator Does:
Deliver evidence-based programming with fidelity, care, and compassion to youth and parents in CAMBA's Beacon and Cornerstone afterschool programs.
Arrange and guide youth through community service-learning opportunities.
Provide referrals to participants and families in need, both to CAMBA's programs and services and to outside providers.
Conduct community outreach in the interest of information-sharing and collaboration.
Create, based on survey feedback, workshops for parents and caregivers.
Maintain program participant records and submit required data for monthly, quarterly, and annual education reports.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree preferred in health education or related field, and/or related and applicable experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to facilitate discussion/teach classes to youth and parents in a variety of settings on various health topics including social emotional learning, adolescent identity development, community building, and sexual risk avoidance.
Must be available during afterschool and evening hours.
Must be comfortable working with “at-risk” youth in East New York, Brownsville, Bedford-Stuyvesant and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Experience working with youth and demonstrated ability to be inclusive and non-stigmatizing.
Experience with DOE afterschool programs and/or with community centers. Preferred
Experience with CAPP, TOP, or other Act for Youth / Wyman programs. Preferred
Must obtain Department of Education fingerprint clearance, and maintain clearance throughout duration of employment.
