Position Summary
We are hiring a Property Accountant responsible for full-cycle accounting and reporting across a portfolio of residential properties. The ideal candidate will have strong financial analysis skills, hands-on experience with monthly closes, and comfort navigating property-level reporting systems. This is a critical role focused on ensuring the accuracy of monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and compliance deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Perform full month-end close for multiple properties, including internal and external financial reporting
Review daily banking transactions and update records for accuracy
Reconcile general ledger accounts for assigned properties
Record monthly wires, debt service, escrow activity, and reserve account transactions
Reconcile bank accounts, including tenant security accounts
Prepare year-end journal entries and compile audit and tax support documentation
Support property tax compliance processes, including RPIE filings, certiorari applications, and tax petitions
Assist with ad hoc financial projects and reporting as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting role (property management preferred)
Strong working knowledge of Yardi software
Experience with tax credit (LIHTC) properties is a plus
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines effectively

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the candidate would support the financial management of Black Health by maintaining all financial accounts and records.
WHAT YOU DO:
Responsible for organization's Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
Grant Management - preparation of billing/vouchering/invoicing for all grants/contracts; ensure compliance with all government requirements.
Prepare monthly journal entries.
Perform monthly analytical review of Balance Sheet and P&L accounts.
Audit and upload bi-weekly payroll entries to General Ledger
Assist Accounting Manager with audit schedules, financial statement preparation and annual tax return (Form 990).
Prepare annual 1099's.
Other tasks as assigned by Accounting Manager.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting. 3+ years of experience.
Proven experience in day-to-day nonprofit accounting/finance.
Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills.
Experience working effectively across all teams within an organization.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent judgement and a high level of professionalism and discretion, especially in handling sensitive and/or confidential information.
Highly collaborative, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
BENEFITS
The salary for this position is within the range of $70,000 - 78,000 per year.
Black Health offers accrual of up to 4 weeks per year PTO, 7 sick days. Seventy percent of employer provided coverage for medical benefits, not including dental and vision. (Which will change at the onset of open enrollment.). POSITION Overview
The Ali Forney Center (AFC) is seeking a Contract and Foundation Accountant to manage government contracts, staff allocations, and financial reporting in alignment with AFC's mission to support LGBTQ+ homeless youth. The ideal candidate will have experience in contract management, government vouchering, and budget oversight for funding sources including DYCD, DOH, HUD, SAMHSA, OTDA and other federal, city, and state government agencies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contract Management & Vouchering:
Oversee and manage all financial reporting and compliance related to government contracts, ensuring timely and accurate vouchering for DYCD, DOH, HUD, SAMHSA,OTDA and other government agencies.
Prepare, review, and submit contract vouchers in accordance with funder requirements and deadlines.
Maintain thorough and organized financial records, ensuring documentation aligns with agency and funder policies.
Assist in the preparation and submission of contract budgets, modifications, and renewals.
Monitor contract expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets and funder guidelines.
Staff Allocations & Budget Management:
Develop and manage staff allocation plans in conjunction with administration and program heads, ensuring personnel costs are appropriately charged to contracts.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date staff allocation records and update allocations based on program and contract changes.
Collaborate with program and administrative leadership to manage contract budgets and align financial resources with organizational needs.
Prepare financial reports and analyses for internal review and funder reporting.

Ensure compliance with all government contract requirements, including financial regulations and audit preparedness.
Attend and contribute to monthly budget meetings to review financial performance, identify issues, and support strategic decision-making.
Work closely with external auditors and funders during audits and site visits, providing necessary financial documentation and responses.

Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant Restricted Funds will assist in the day-to-day activities of the SCN finance department.
Specifically, the Staff Accountant- Restricted Funds will:

Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial administration of grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and private funding regulations and organizational policies. This position typically involves managing a portfolio of grants, from award setup through closeout, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance monitoring.
The ideal candidate possesses strong accounting expertise, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to detail. They are adept at managing financial records, preparing GAAP financial and grant-specific reports, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Specifically, the Senior Accountant is responsible for:
Developing and reviewing annual program budgets, prepare periodic fiscal reports, draw down requests and grant reports.
Review and approve vouchers and purchase orders.
Monitoring and review payroll charges.
Handling monthly G/L production, prepare journal entries, and conduct ad hoc account analyses.
Monitoring spending and encumbrance progress against budget and prepare regular budget modifications.
Prepare management reports and fiscal analyses as required.
Computing and draw down monthly overhead allowances.
Providing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Degree B.S. or B.A. in accounting or equivalent.
Years of Experience 5 or more in grant accounting. Knowledgeable in financial management of Federal, state and city grants.
Must have the highest degree of proficiency in Excel, must know major non-profit accounting system, must have superior organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
Experience in monitoring government grants and be familiar with city, state, and OMB guidelines.
Desired Skills:
Skills - recent experience in Intacct accounting system a plus.
Background - experience in mid to large-sized non-profit organizations.
Proven ability to work collegially with staff, management and all stakeholders in time-sensitive, performance- driven environments.
