This position will also be assigned to new construction jobs and be responsible for performing all tasks needed from the time we break ground till the day the project is certified by state. It is important that the crews are running a safe and effective construction program and maintaining all Life Safety and Fire Code responsibilities. There is some travel involved but we have a company truck that is provided so you do not use your own vehicle. When out-of-town stay is necessary, we also provide per diem and hotel costs. Responsibilities General Construction Essential Functions Excavating, concrete work, framing, drywall work, electrical, plumbing, flooring, insulating, appliance installs, painting, wallpapering, siding and roofing. Supplying all basic tools (drill, tape measure, hammer, etc.); Maintaining knowledge of OSHA requirements and regulations; Maintaining knowledge of and following all safety regulations, policies, and procedures as specified by the facility and TLC Management; Maintaining a working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration systems, fire safety equipment and nurse call systems; Maintaining all equipment and supplies in a clean, safe and serviceable condition; Ensuring that all hazardous chemicals are properly stored in a safe manner and in approved containers; Maintaining knowledge on painting and wall-coverings to ensure well maintained facilities; Reporting all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to the foreman; Maintaining work areas and storage rooms in a clean, orderly and safe manner; Ensuring that all equipment, supplies and tools are clean, properly maintained and stored before leaving on break, lunch or at the end of the work day; Coordinating with facility departments' work schedules to avoid interference and unnecessary interruptions Traveling to job location through diverse weather conditions and being able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations. Performing other duties as assigned by the Construction Foreman. IND123 Qualifications General Construction Qualifications A high school diploma or GED. General knowledge and experience in construction Valid Indiana Drivers License Ability to follow oral instruction Ability to work as a team player This position is subject to state-mandated regulations for working in long-term care environments. To be eligible for employment, applicants must be able to satisfy all state guidelines, including a clean criminal background check. Specifically, state law prohibits the hiring of individuals with a felony conviction within the last 5 years.
