Under the direction of the Extended Learning Specialist and/or Lead Tutor, the position of part time Tutor is responsible to provide intensive and extensive tutorial services. The Part Time Tutor position includes tutoring Kindergarten through 8th grade students in the content subjects of Mathematics and Reading. Instruction and activities are designed expressly to prepare students for standardized achievement test and to teach study skills. Activities may include practicing different types of test questions or taking practice tests. Tutoring services can occur after school or before school. Must be 18 years or older and meet academic standards for tutoring and demonstrate competence in analyzing student's academic needs and effectively provide solutions and support in assisting the student to reach their academic potential. Must complete all necessary trainings. Must possess an understanding and knowledge of public school functions, as well as, specific knowledge in age-appropriate curriculum.
