XIUS company history timeline

2003

Since 2003, it has grown significantly becoming the 4th largest telecommunications company in the world in terms of geographic presence with a footprint in 22 countries spread across the Middle East and Africa.

2004

The company migrated operations to GSM infrastructure in the same areas of the country in which it has CDMA coverage. It launched operations in Colombia during April, 2004, taking over a client base formerly managed by BellSouth.

In December 2004, Mobily was listed on Tadawul Stock Exchange.

2007

As of 8 September 2007, Zain became the company’s new corporate master brand name.

Currently, the company is present in 7 Middle Eastern and 15 sub-Saharan African countries with over 15,000 employees, providing a comprehensive range of mobile voice and data services to over 42.5 million active customers (as at 31 December 2007).

Bharti Airtel has been rated among the best performing companies in the world in the Business Week IT 100 list 2007.

2008

In March 2008, Mobily was granted approval by CITC (Communication and Information Technology Commission) to acquire Bayanat al-Oula which was a licensed Data Service Provider for a price of SAR 1.5 Billion.

Bharti Airtel Limited, a group company of Bharti Enterprises, is India’s leading integrated telecom services provider with an aggregate of 71.77 million customers as of end of June 2008, consisting of 69.38 million mobile customers.

Zain plans to commence operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2008.

The company’s mobile telecommunications operations in Ghana will begin in 2008.

Diemo will partner with Digitel, the GSM operator in Venezuela, for the first such real-time cash transfer-focused MVNO in the country. It plans to roll out similar country-specific MVNOs across several countries in the South American region, starting with Colombia in late 2008.

2009

Having secured an MVNO agreement with Celcom (Malaysia) Bhd, Tune Talk is poised to launch in 2009.

2010

The patent filed in February 2010, was awarded by the US Patent and Trademark Office in July this year.

The audit was performed by a nationally recognized independent auditing firm, and was completed in September, 2010.

The Group is ranked fifth in the world in the telecommunications sector for stock market capitalization, first in terms of integrated European operators, and third in the Eurostoxx 50 ranking, which lists the best companies in the Euro zone (31 December 2010).

In Europe, in addition to Spain, the company has a presence in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, providing services to more than 56.2 million customers at the end of December 2010.

2011

XIUS-bcgi, a leader in delivering innovative telecom solutions for mobile operators and MVNOs worldwide, today announced that as of January 11, 2011, the company will launch a single entity and brand under the name of XIUS (pronounced ZY-us). XIUS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Megasoft Ltd.

Connectem Inc. was founded in 2011 by Industry veterans who identified an opportunity to bring the advances of Virtualization & Cloud Computing to the Mobile Packet Core.

Lastly, XIUS also announced its plans to move its India operations to its new Research & Development Center and Technology Park in Hyderabad, India by the end of 2011.

Zain (formerly MTC) is a leading emerging markets player in the field of telecommunications aiming to become one of the top ten mobile groups in the world by 2011 in terms of market capitalisation.

2012

The NFC Forum and Wima have announced the finalists for their jointly-run Tap Into Innovation: NFC Global Competition 2012 Wima and NFC Forum Global Competition

2014

Cierto, the first MVNO in Mexico with 100 percent Mexican investment was launched in September 2014.

2015

2 at MVNOs Industry Summit LATAM 2015, Mexico on 16-17 June to understand how XIUS Mobile Services Platform enables MVNOs in achieving their objectives.

2016

HYDERABAD – August 10, 2016 – Not long ago, the Department of Telecommunications authorised launch of Virtual Network Operators (VNOs) in India.

2017

Hyderabad – February 15, 2017 – XIUS, a global leader in mobile technology has been selected by Toka, a company specializing in electronic payment solutions to launch Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) services in Mexico.

IDC forecasts total mobile services revenue in India to reach US $37 Billion in 2017.

2018

Hyderabad – 1 Aug, 2018 – XIUS, a leading supplier of mobile technology, mobile payments and enterprise offerings has unveiled its 'vData Core', a patent-pending telco grade platform.

2020

The MVNO market in Latin America is expected to reach US$1.5bn by 2020 as per an analysis by Ovum.
