When the Tribe was interned in 1907 away from its traditional lands, the federal government named the Tribe the Rumsey Band of Wintun Indians.
In 1940, just 33 years after they had been forced from their traditional land, Tribal leadership successfully petitioned the federal government to relocate to a small piece of land within the Tribe’s traditional territory.
In 1940, our people gained a hard-won relocation to a small parcel of land further south in the Capay Valley, where they managed to cultivate small amounts of food.
Thanks to this revenue, in 2004 the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation added a $200 million resort and renamed the complex the Cache Creek Casino Resort.
In 2012, the Tribe began operation of the Séka Hills Olive Mill, a state-of-the-art facility scaled to suit the needs of local olive growers
