All areas of research will be considered, with thematic preference for Central Nervous System and genitourinary tumors that can leverage extensive resources at SUNY Upstate. Successful candidates will join a community of oncology, cell biology, and neuroscience investigators with strengths in genomics, cytoskeleton, neural environment, biomechanics, cancer molecular and cellular biology, and population studies. Candidates are expected to develop a research program in cancer microenvironment that will combine strengths from multiple topic areas to attract further talent and continued funding support. Their research program will be supported by state-of-the art core facilities for genomics, proteomics, advanced microscopy, and tumor biobanking. Candidates will carry the titles of Associate or Full Professor (rank dependent upon qualifications) and Empire Innovation Scholar. They will have primary appointment in a basic-science or clinical department matching their research program, and further affiliation as members of the SUNY Upstate Cancer Center.
