The teaching load includes one course release per semester for research expectations and one course release for service expectations.     Details Information Working Title Microsoft Excel Level 1 & 2 Part Time Instructor Position Status Part Time Department Continuing Education General Summary This position will serve as a part time instructor in the Continuing Education department at Odessa College. The Microsoft Excel Instructor will deliver training programs on Excel functions and features, creating lesson plans and materials, assessing students' progress, providing feedback and support, and staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in Excel. The ideal candidate would have strong knowledge and proficiency in Excel, excellent communication and teaching skills, and the ability to adapt to different learning styles. Teaching students, the basics of Excel, such as data entry, formatting, and basic formulas in Level 1. In Level 2. Successful completion will result in a certification for the student. Specific Position Duties * Conduct in person Microsoft Excel Level 1 & 2 training sessions, as needed to meet demands, at Gregory D Williams Hall location. * Flexible schedule and hours. * Sessions will be 2- or 4-hour sessions until syllabus is completed. * Instruct and assist students in understanding Microsoft Excel Level 1 & 2 software. * Provide support and guidance to students as they progress in their Microsoft Excel knowledge. Other duties as assigned * Physical Demands * The ability to perform work in a classroom and office setting * Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time * Use of manual dexterity * Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds * Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation * Standard classroom environment Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Annual Salary Hiring Range Work Hours This position is part-time with max of 19 hours per week. It involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring students, and leading departmental initiatives. The Chair oversees curriculum development, faculty supervision, and accreditation efforts, while also managing field-based experiences and clinical placements for teacher preparation programs. This role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including regional school districts, and demands strong leadership, organizational, and pedagogical skills. A doctoral degree is required, with preference given to candidates with broad teaching capabilities and practical experience. 1. Tenure track, full-time teaching position on a 12-month contract 2. Faculty are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. 3. Face-to-face and/or hybrid teaching interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus for a minimum of four days a week. 4. Teach 18 credit hours per contract year. 5. Achieve appropriate student-learning outcomes in all courses taught. 6. Faculty are expected to employ sound pedagogical practices and use appropriate technology. 7. Mentor students to prepare them for professional practice, graduate studies, and research. 8. Provide support to students in need of academic improvement. 9.
