Job Description
AECOM's New England Transportation group is actively seeking a highly motivated experienced Civil Engineer with experience in roadway and highway design.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and execute roadway design projects, including geometric design, drainage systems, and pavement design.
Create and implement Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow during construction phases.
Collaborate with colleagues throughout New England Region on highway/bridge infrastructure projects for multiple state, local and municipal clients.

Qualifications

**Job Description**
Reporting to the Regional Chief Executive with a matrixed reporting relationship to the Global Business Line (GBL) Water Chief Executive, this role will act as the leader of the Water business within the northeast sub-region, collaborating with the Regional CEO and leadership team, Water leaders in the region, Client Account Managers and other stakeholders to coordinate all Water matters in the sub-region. Job Description
AECOM in Providence, RI is actively seeking a highly motivated
Bridge Engineering Department Lead
to join our Transportation Business Line. This position will oversee bridge and other transportation structural design technical work, monitor staffing and provide business development assistance. The ideal candidate will perform the following:
Lead the staff by offering technical guidance and mentor staff to facilitate career development.
Advise project teams on technical issues, perform deliverable quality reviews, report on project status, and deliver design on schedule and within budget.
Manage bridge design projects from inception to completion, ranging in contract value and complexity and coordinate design elements with other task leaders and/or group managers.
Lead, monitor and review design deliverables such as calculations, reports, models, construction cost estimates, construction drawings and specifications.
Manage complex technical work independently while mentoring and guiding less experienced team members.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships through performance, service and effective communication.
Monitor and coordinate staffing with regional bridge leaders.
Responsible for managing Providence bridge team of approximately 6-10 engineers.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related field plus 10 years of related experience overseeing bridge and other transportation structural design technical work or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Professional Engineering license
Preferred Qualifications:
Project management experience
Knowledge of AASHTO requirements
MS Degree with concentration in Structural Engineering
Experience with RIDOT, the RITBA and other transportation agencies is highly desired

* Be an integral part of our WORLD CLASS RAIL DESIGN group
* Develop overhead catenary systems layout drawings, profiles, hanger tabulations, erection diagrams and technical specifications
* Perform quality control reviews and design checks of railroad projects
* Lead major tasks
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state & local regulations Overhead Catenary System (OCS)
* Serves as a project manager on mid-large size projects
* Coordinates team and provides technical expertise for mid-large size projects
* Will develop overhead catenary systems layout drawings, profiles, hanger tabulations, erection diagrams and technical specifications
* Leads technical client relationships related to design, construction and phasing of the work.
* Coordinates with multiple departments related to a projects scope of work.
* Mentors staff to develop a team to support work throughout New England and beyond.
* Strong analytical and communication skills
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships with clients
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
* BA/BS in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
* Professional Engineer (PE)
* Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must have a Valid Driver's License and pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications
* 10 years' experience in railway systems (Overhead Catenary Systems/Traction Power).
* 6 years of related experience in railway (overhead catenary systems, traction power, track).
* Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenRoads or OpenRail
* Experience working with Connecticut Department of Transportation, Metro-North Railroad, Amtrak, MBTA, or other passenger/commuter railroad agencies
* Work on multiple projects simultaneously
* Excellent written and communication skills
