Yes, a CRNA can become an anesthesiologist. A CRNA has the same options to practice medicine that any other aspiring person does, and they have a unique background that most likely can help when studying anesthesiology.

To become an anesthesiologist, a CRNA would need to complete medical school. As many CRNAs already hold master's degrees, they would most likely only have to take a few classes, if any, to prepare for applying for medical school. They would then need to complete medical school, residency, and potentially a fellowship.

Then, they would need to take and pass the physician licensing exams and board certification exams. After schooling and licensing are complete, a CRNA could then become working as an anesthesiologist.
