How hard is it to become a doula?

It is not very hard to become a doula. Doulas typically only need to complete some certification training to begin working. This training often includes childbirth education, doula training, and going to a few live births.

Some doulas may choose to complete education in nursing beforehand, but this is not a requirement to become a doula. For doulas, once you meet all requirements to become licensed, you may begin working. There is high demand for doulas, and it is projected to continue, so finding a position should not be too difficult for a skilled, excited doula.
