How many hours do orthodontists work?

Orthodontists work 40 hours a week on average. Orthodontists typically work 9 to 5 five days a week, with the weekends off. They may choose to have additional hours either before or after the typical work week to accommodate patients who also work those hours.

Some orthodontists may choose to additionally add in emergency hours, should an issue arise outside of normal business hours. This is not a requirement, but it can be extremely helpful for making sure you are taking care of your patients and their needs.
