How many hours does a rural carrier associate work?

The amount of hours a rural carrier associate works depends on their assigned route. Some rural carrier associates, for example, have routes that require them to work as many as eight hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week. depending upon the size of the facility and the number of full-time Rural Carriers based there, a rural carrier associate might work anywhere from only one or two days a week, up to over 40 hours a week

In some cases, a rural carrier associate is only assigned to work one day a week, unless in season. Typically a rural carrier associate position is a starting place for getting a more permanent position at the United States Postal Office.
