How many vacation days do FBI agents get?

By Kate Swindlehurst - Jun. 13, 2023

FBI agents get 13-26 vacation days per year. The average number of PTO days for someone working in the United States is 10, so FBI agents typically receive more than the average for PTO. There is also an increase in days for senior employees at the FBI.

For the first three years that an FBI agent is working, they receive 13 days of annual leave per year. After three years, that increases to 20 days per year. Agents that work for at least 15 years see another increase of vacation days that rises to 26 per year, which is more than 5 work weeks off per year.
