How to get a job with pending charges

By Kate Swindlehurst - Apr. 25, 2023

There are many different jobs that you can get with pending charges. Unfortunately, this does create hurdles that can be difficult, and in some cases impossible, to cross. You may often have to complete additional paperwork, an interview, or more.

No specific laws prohibit you from being hired while having pending charges. This does not mean that every place and every position is still available to you, but you should be able to find a job even with pending charges. Unfortunately, some jobs may automatically reject applications from applicants with criminal records.

Some programs are specifically meant to help people with criminal backgrounds find work and be successful. Finding one in your state may be a great way to find resources and support for becoming whatever you want, regardless of your past.
