How to get a tattoo license

While the exact requirements to get a tattoo license vary from state to state, there are general requirements that states have for obtaining this license. Every state requires you to hold OSHA bloodborne pathogens certification. You also need to be able to show that you did complete some form of formal apprenticeship.

Along with those requirements, there are some additional requirements that some states provide for receiving a tattoo license. Some states also require CPR certification and first aid certification. You also may need to take and pass a licensing exam. That is available in most, but not all, states.
