How to get a waxing license

You need to graduate from esthetician school or cosmetology school and meet all requirements to get a waxing license. Most programs students be at least 16 years old and have a GED or high school diploma. However, there are some programs, offered through high schools and junior colleges, that can be taken while pursuing a high school diploma.

After completion, you must pass the licensing and certification requirements in whichever state you plan to practice. Most states include an exam to meet their requirements, but some simply require completing cosmetology or esthetician school. After certification and licensing, you may legally begin working as a nail technician.
